New carbon fiber background hides text

Has anyone noticed that the new CF background makes some text very hard to find?

Examples that I've run into:
1. Click on a person's username to View Public Profile. On their profile page, you can barely see their username and any tag they might have, i.e. VCA Member, etc.
2. Under the Quick Reply box and above the Currently Active Users box, there is a link to another post. Pretty hard to see.
3. To the far right of the Posting Rules box, there is a dropdown listbox to jump to other forums. The text Forum Jump is pretty difficult to see.

I know about these things because I used them before and recently had difficulty finding them. If you highlight the areas with your mouse, it makes it readable because of the background highlighting.

Is there a plan to change the color(font) for these text areas? Was there any usability test done before implementing the CF background? Do any mods read the questions in this forum (many seem to go unanswered)?

Don -- it looks good, but it's also affecting text at the bottom of the forums listings, where the icon keys show (not) what the icons mean. I've found the problem in several places.

...scroll to bottom of page, look for text "New posts" "Hot thread with new posts" etc. It's light gray text that is almost invisible. Also, look for "The time now is" and the time is also in gray, but a little easier to see. The time thing is on all the pages, BTW.
