I was wondering how many people would switch from their GTS if they came out with a new coupe?

Do think the value of the GTS's would drop with the release of a coupe ?

I would buy one in an instant. I don't think it will hurt current GTS prices because the new coupe will have better brakes, more stock hp and better suspension, but will not look as good as the GTS.

Just my 2 rupes.

Short term, yes as you will have a lot of people with Gen II GTS's looking to upgrade to the new couple and looking to dump their current ride. That's not going to help resell values short term.

Long term, the Gen II GTS will be highly sought after as it is a very unique and classic look that will never be duplicated and has relatively moderate build numbers and getting smaller as time goes on.

I will always keep my B/W GTS! I am going to add the VCA SRT-10. But I love my B/W I think it is the best color combo. And the GTS body style is the best so far for the Viper.

I'll keep my GTS. Whether I buy a new SRT Coupe depends on what it is. There are getting to be several competitors out there! If Dodge was really smart they would return to the styling principles of the GTS and just update and refine them. Unfortunately that is hard to do and keep the price affordable because it would mean a major redesign. If they work off the base of the existing SRT-10 they should be able to keep the price at or below the existing roadster. Let's hope :)

I spoke with my neighbor yesterday who stopped me while driving my 94. He claims he was "escorted past security" to see the new coupe which was blue with white stripes and a rear wing. He said it about made him fall over it was soo cool. I assumed it was a GTSR non street legal deal, but he claimed this was for the street.

We'll see.

I love the blue/white stripe combo..

I doubt that's really true.Besides they'll probably 'coupe' up the GTS like a UFO in Roswell. :p

No really, guys, this is no joke. Keep in mind, I think he saw a COMP COUPE and not a street version.

My neighbor works for Oscar W Larson Co. and claims he's in these types of places all of the time. I don't even know what he does. He's got 10 kids and really has no interest in sports cars or telling tall tales. When I asked him if it was a Comp Coupe, he looked at me weird as if he had no idea what I just said. He replied something like "I don't know, it's the new Viper coupe..."

The statement of "new Viper" and "security" made me think well, maybe....

but..
I STILL think it was a Comp Coupe and he did not understand what he was seeing. I've seen pics of these blue w/ white stripes. After the reaction from you guys to what I stated I really doubt it was for the street. I get all of my info FROM here. I don't often deliver it. Someone here has to know more than THE NEIGHBOR.

If I had a comp coupe, I would drive it around my neighborhood. I'm sure someone would post on the internet that they saw a new viper coupe around their neighborhood.

Question: A Comp Coupe comes from the factory ONE WAY, PLAIN? RIGHT? No stripes or special paint is offered?

If someone saw Viper blue with white stripes at the factory....

Simple plan: Show your neighbor a picture of :
1) comp coupe
2) GTSR concept
3) SRT-10 Carbon
4) Gen II GTS

Ask him to pick out the closest match, like a police lineup.

Actually, those pictures originated here on the VCA forum. I just can't find them at this site.
