Ben,

5 Vipers showed up.
1998 Shelby GTS: 11.70@122
1996 RT/10: 12.11@118
1999 RT/10: 12.20@118
2000 RT/10: 12.30@118
2002 FE GTS: broke a half shaft on first run and was towed away.

It was a nice day.. around 30 vettes and only 5 vipers. Twin Turbo lingfelter car ran best of 10.60 i think, and a cartek? vette from florida ran 10.90. We ran 3 runs and then bracket racing started. The shelby GTS lost in the first round, I also lost due to a red light !! And the other two vipers made it to the second round and then one was eliminated and the other red lighted. I have some racing vids of the event.. I ll try to post them soon

Yow, the 550 is the smallest of the three LPE packages. 10.65 is a hell of a fast run for that HP level; what was the MPH, around 130?. I suppose the car had an auto tranny and slicks...

I look forward to seeing the videos!

I also have a 550 LPE TT Vette. These cars can run 10's.
I have run a 10.4 on a BFG tire. LPE is Awesome...

Your prayers are with him? Did something happen to him?

The 550 and 650 package cars have the same turbos, heck the 427TT C5 here in aZ has the same turbos.

Dragging this one up from the past....

Ben,

The LPE TT car in question is not really a 550 package. It's (I guess what you'd call) a 550+. John L basically put everything from a 650 package on Greg (the owners) car but didn't touch the engine. It is a 350.

The reason for this is that Greg wanted to upgrade to a 427" block at some point so he wanted to get all the stuff that comes with the bigger package but didn't want to pay for the block. Greg's car is a Z06... it was the first Z06 that LPE did a TT on, so it's the one you see in the rags and what not - so it also had a bit of 'special' tuning by LPE.

I want to know who's 96 R/T pulled a 12.10@118 and what mods he had if any. What a great time for that old Gen I, whooped up on all those Gen II cars

For those that have asked, there is a post on the Corvette Forum about John Lingenfelter. I hesitate to respond, but you can get the details there. For and overview, he was recovering well from a 200 MPH kiss of the wall and while they were prepping him for another surgery, he reacted badly to medication and went into a coma and is not likely to recover. He will be missed.
Cheers
Randy
