short version: i got low pressure reading and realized i had a nail in my drivers side rear tire. 1.) do i have to replace the tires on both sides? 2.) should i get a different type of tire (i.e. not run flat) 3.) is there a tire that is less expensive than another, etc? :dunno:

Whether you need to get a new set of tires instead of replacing one is a function of the miles you have on the current setup. If you have low, easy miles on the rears and the passenger rear is in good shape, you should be able to get away with one - and if you do make sure it is the same tire exact tire. I would never mix brands and type.

I have about 7,000 miles on my rears with a couple of track days. if one goes, I would have to replace both.
