NITROGEN-VS-AIR

My older brother is a well seasoned mechanic, I was having trouble with my wifes Navigator,(low tire pressure sensor would come on when tires were cold), my brother suggested we replace the air in the tires with Nitrogen, he also stated the benefits having Nirogen in the tires far out weighed having air..he also stated that Nitrogen has been used by NASCAR for years...

Well it worked so well in the Navigator, I decided to replace the air in all my Viper tires with Nitrogen..

Anyone else doing this??or maybe some of the racers and techinical people can chime in on this practice..

I was going to do this but what if you start leaking air and need to refill it for a bit just to get you home? That was my only concern

FYI, Costco has been using Nitrogen to inflate tires for over a year.
