dealership has a new 04 Red SRT/10 on the lot, will sell it for 68k out the door with tax and license. Is that a decent deal? Remember it is a 04 never titled.

Considering tax is included, sounds pretty good to me. How many miles on it?

The car is 2 model years old and in a couple of months it will be 3. You lose 20% in depreciation the first day you drive a CURRENT model year car off the lot. I'd offer them $63K out the door.

really? no anywhere that would give me that? I know for a fact they wouldn't take that. it took them a week to say yes to 68k out the door.

I just passed this Saturday on a new '05 Copperhead for $66k plus 3% sales tax in Va - it had just 7 miles on it - thus, not sure an '04 at your price is that great (especially a red which is fairly common as compared to a Mamba, Copperhead, etc.)

50 miles is not new. Mine had 4 miles on it and a few have about 20 that have been track tested at DC and signed by DC. It sounds like the dealer was driving this car and perhaps beating on it. Look at the rear tires, any whear from burnouts. Have him put in on his lift and look it over completely for any scrapes.

The copperhead sold the next day which is no surprise at that price - I was just looking for something a little less pricey so I can add a blower and be around $65k all in plus sales taxes

so haven't purchased the car yet. the car has less than 200 miles, so it has been driven by the people at the dealership. alright someone give me a number or name where their is a better deal. im buying this week.

It is a good deal but if you are going for only new cars, I would say go with an 05. You can get those for $63,000 - $69,000 (depending on color) plus taxes. If not, get them to $65K or $66K out the door.

Recent history of comparables suggests $63k-$64k

There was a 5-mile '06 SRT10 red just sold for $69k !!!

I picked up a yellow 05 with under 2,800 miles in perfect condition a few months ago for 62,000 from a dealer in TX, and I feel that I got a good deal even though I had to pay the AZ sales tax of 5.6%. Personally I think I'd prefer an 05 (in perfect condition) with under 5,000 miles, over a new 04 for the same price. Really no right or wrong answers, just go with your best feeling and rock and roll!
