I have been kicking the tires of a car a friend is thinking about selling. It is a 1998 GTS-R/GT2 with approximately 12,000 miles. The car is pristine. He is a former Dodge Dealership owner and he has not committed to selling it but some of his personal cars have to go away.
I could probably give him a value for just about any other Viper out there (other than a comp. coupe) but I have not seen very much market activity for this car. I do plan to buy another Viper this year but did not intend to spend as much as this car will cost - I may stretch the budget a little to take advantage of this opportunity to buy a very sweet car.
My question is has anyone seen any of these cars sell recently?
If so, how many miles? Individual sale or dealer or auction?
Any thoughts on the long term collectibility of this car would be appreciated. I am very aware of the significance of this car but I am interested in what others may think.
