So with all this yuletide Christmas spirit from the sales department, who is looking to sell cars, can I point out that their SERVICE department completely sux ***??

I'm sure I'm no viper expert only buying 3 of them new over the last 6 years, and personally putting well over 100,000+ miles on them collectively. So when I tell my Dad to take his Viper over to Palmer Dodge for what is OBVIOUSLY a WORN OUT DIFFERENTIAL, (well KNOWN issue with gen 3 vipers), where it will NOT engage limited slip in a turn, but instead chooses to burn a 1 wheel wonder under power. And they tell Dad, NOPE everything is fine.

So one of my visits where I flew in from California, and said "Dad, I'll take care of this, they obviously need a demonstration" and I PERSONALLY take the car to Palmer Dodge and TAKE A SERVICE personal OUT for a ride, and SHOWWWWWWWWWWWW him how it doesn’t work, and HE CONFIRMS, that its not right. And so they AGREE to take it in for service at a later date to find out the problem (2nd time mind you, because they blew Dad off the first time), but THEN after my Dad takes it back in after we AGREEEEEEEE all together in unity that something is wrong with the diff. (And of course I am back in California at this time) They have a NEW diagnosis... EVERYTHING IS FINE... Thanks for bringing it in, nothing to fix.

ARE YOU PHUCKING KIDDING ME?? !!

Thanks for wasting my time, my dad’s time, and securing I will NEVER buy a Dodge or any other car from you, OR allow my father to.

You guys **** ***.

Does this sound personal? It is. Screwing my Dad REALLY ****** me off. I didn’t buy him a viper to have a Large National Dealership 5 minutes from his house, tell him his OBVIOSLY broken differential is perfectly fine. Maybe you are bias that he has Gray hair and shouldn’t be driving Vipers hard... but you guys are A-holes. Job well done.

Some of their cars are good. others not-so-much. If you are serious about a car, PM me and i'll give you the GM's cell #. that will bypass the BS. I am also (relatively) local and can go check out a car if needed...

JD

Bought my 2001 Sapphire GTS from Palmer AFTER Joseph Dell was kind enough to check the car out. It was super clean, low miles and has been great for the past 2 1/2 years. Make sure you have someone knowledgeable like Joe to check the car(s) out if you can't go in person.

Ok here is my two cents worth...Jarod sells cars, and does not work on them. In most shops, the two departments dont even get along very well..politics from what I am told. I know this because the owner of one of the highest volume Dodge dealers in the country is a friend of mine. I was thinking of buyer a new ACR last month and Jarod had the car I wanted. This guy returned my call at midnight! He never pushed me to buy. I busted this guys ass for three weeks and still never pulled the trigger. This guy always answered his phone at night and responded at all hours to my text questions. When I finally called to buy it...he had sold it a few hours earlier. While I never did the deal this guy was straight up...I run a business with over 300 salepersons and a billion a year in sales so I know what good service is. So give the guy a try...he seems sincere...and if he's not...then shoot him...just kidding.

Had my own experience with them...!

They installed a part upside down under the SRT-10 of my friend living in ATL area! And they could not spot the obvious wrong part when looking under the car - I had to tell them...poor is all I can say.

Here's my $0.01 (adjusted for economic problems). Jared in noway denies that Palmer HAS had major problems in the past. Palmer knows they can increase their business if they take care of any current customers 100% and try to make amends with any past customers who had a bad experience. From what I heard from current VCA members who have used Palmer in the past month or so, everyone is 100% happy. That involves lots of $$ saved on parts and some service issues that were handled correctly the 1st time, even when other Atlanta area Dodge dealerships had failed. I haven't heard from anyone personally who has bought a car from them in the past month or so, so I can't speak on that front. I would say, give Jared and Palmer a chance. Go up there, meet with Jared, get him to introduce you to everyone and discuss what you need and expect, either from parts, sales or service.

Wait a minute, to me he represents the whole dealership, not just the sales department, he certainly made a TON of references to their service department by way of saying they gave this part and that part, and fixed this and fixed that. So no, he's including himself in that as far as I am concerned from my review of this thread. I know he is a sales guy, but apparently he has close ties with his service team.

I bought my Viper from Woodhouse, not ONLY because they have a great SALES TEAM, but because they have a GREAT SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

No, I'm sorry, I am not going to agree that a dealership who only gets 1/2 the equation right is still a good dealership. Sounds like one thats got the jurney 1/2 way completed.

SALES AND SERVICE. And if your failing at one or the other, your not qualified in my book to be considered a Great or even worthwhile dealership to work with.

They still **** in my book,

Jon

Brian I appreciate the kind words.

Jon,
When did this all happen. I appreciate you saying something. In no way do I control every interworkings of this dealership but I do believe that in order to be a top notch dealership all departments have to be firing on all cylinders. If you would like to PM me and tell me possibly who you dealt with and when that would be much appreciated. If not I understand but that is the only way I can resolve the mistakes that have been made by holding someone accountable.

ViperGTS,
I just want to let you know that not a single person shown in that picture even works here anymore and hasnt for quite some time. I am sorry that your experience was less than perfect.

Glad to see that you got rid of ....missing the right word here....this would have been funny if not so serious back in April 2007! The manager laying down in his white cloth on the dirty floor looking under the car and saying...everything looks soooooo OK!
Me: please have a closer look - there is something really wrong.
He: I cant see anything wrong!
Me: lift the car, immediately, and I will tell you what to do to make it right!
and so on...they (all) had NO clue.

It is an SRT-10.

Hmmm... Installing a part upside down is pretty freaking far from perfect. "Less than perfect" would be, say, forgetting to tighten a bolt snugly as opposed to installing the part completely incorrectly.

You seem to be trying hard to make amends on behalf of your dealership, which is admirable, but abject honesty will get you a lot further with this crowd. Even a slight attempt at being euphemistic for what have been well-documented past wrongs committed by your dealership to some of the most reputable members of this board will just discount your sincerity.

If you would have said, "I am sorry we completely botched the install" it would have given you more board cred. There are a lot of rrrreeeaallllyyyy mechanically inclined owners on this board, and when they look at that picture, they aren't thinking "less than perfect", they are thinking "what a complete ****-up".

My Dodge dealer's "Viper Tech" (he had a certificate and everything...) literally couldn't figure out how to open the hood. I don't know why you guys just don't say, "We don't have anyone qualified to work on your car". I realize it's uncomfortable for a dealership to admit that, since you sell the cars, but it's not like it's going to stay secret for long.

If you read my past threads I have said a dozen times that we have done some F'd up stuff in the past. We have had some people from sales to service in the past who instead of maning up and saying they don't know what they were doing and handing it over to someone who does (cause we do have some very professional and knowledgable viper people) saw dollar signs in their eyes and tried to "fake it till they made it" to say. Since then there has been an almost complete revamping of the store. There is only select few people here that survived the restructering process of late. Having said all that there are TWO very highly qualified and more importantly KNOWLEDGABLE Viper techs here now. There are several people on the forums now that can attest to the expertise of these two guys. I can only apologize for the wrong doings of the past a thousand times but those people arent here anymore. To the people out there who have had problems again I apologize and to those who have given us the chance to show we are a DIFFERENT Palmer Dodge:
Steve
Chris
Brian
Brooks
Frank
Tom
David
just to name a few, I thank you and hope we continue to work together. In all honestly I don't mind be the whipping boy for the store and taking the verbal punishment for past mistakes if that is what it takes cause I believe in this store now and am doing everything in my power to make it better for every Viper owner out there. At the same time I need those who have had problems or need assistance now with anything from Sales to Service to come to me so I can make sure they are taken care of right the first time.
Thank you,
Jared O'Brien

Ok, let's cut the guy some slack. He really has apologized many times. He can't get in that proverbial DeLorean and go back to the future to fix the past. These kinds of stories are all too common at dealerships so let's give credit where it's due to a dealer that seems to have recognized AND admitted the mistakes of the past and wants to improve.
I might add I spent time on the phone with this gentleman and he is just that a gentleman. How many others would have blown up by now with this kind of attack?
And he did not even play his trump card, Palmer is now a major dealer site supporter here, and that is a very short list that reads as below. Pretty good group to be in. Let's let the past go and look to the future.
