I upgraded mine to a larger unit for just that reason. Power loss when warm is much smaller than before. Intake air temps don't climb nearly as fast and the thing cools down quicker in between runs. I mounted it in front of the radiator and plumbed it. It looks kinda' like a small intercooler.
Most radiator shops could make one or might have something close in stock.

We use this setup on our upgraded DLM/Paxton SRT packages. It is exclusively designed to drop in and replace your existing components.
You will not have to change the wiring and it will retrofit to your existing water cooler. (The bigger pump was designed to use LOW amperage for this type of application).
The cost to purchase the pump and larger heat exchanger outright without installation is $695.00. (unpolished) plus shipping.

I'll be one of the first to tell you the DLM core and pump is an excellent upgrade. The stock paxton oil cooler is good for it's intended purpose but it's still "oil cooler" technology. You won't see many street driven vehicles with a radiator with that type of design FOR COOLING WATER. Water cooling technology utilizes a different core and cooling tanks for proper air cooling and better heat exchange.Hi Doug. A few questions.
1. Is there any power difference bewteen the stock Paxton kit intercooler application and yours? If so, could you post the dyno graph produced by the stock kit and the dyno graph produced by the substitution of your custom intercooler so we can see at what RPM the increases occur?
2. If there is no power increase and the benefit is less power loss due to heat build up during prolonged or repetitive high performance driving (road racing or drag racing), approximately how much more time at lower operating temperatures is obtained?

your right and wrong. there's a difference between cooler air and hot air resulting in detonation. cooler air make more power yes, that's were proper tuning comes from, in turn i had DLM setup my fuel and spark tables. hot air directly causes detonation and HOT AIR DOESNT MAKE POWER. . cooler air is what you want for superchargers, turbos, etc..."Bottom line -- cooler charge air temperatures result in less chance of detonation and MORE POWER. Especially on cast piston cars!"
A cooler air charge, due to the increase in the density of air that flows into the cylinder, may result in more power but the chance of detonation is controlled by other factors. Many with superchargers have experienced increased detonation with power increases unless their fuel system, including the computer aspects, can adjust to the change. This is one of the reasons that some Viper owners have chosen to install the AEM controller in place of the stock computer or, in cases where its possible for Dan C. to reflash the OEM computer to accomadate the increased computational demands, a reflash is done.
I would like to see the dyno graphs, including the respective A/F ratio graphs/charts. It would be interesting to see the difference, if any, produced between the two units.
Also, another question. Is there a weight difference? Is the custom unit and the additional water required, if any, heavier or lighter than the stock Paxton kit unit? By how much?
