:drive: Please join me for the PA Grand Canyon Cruise/Poker Run. Those that have attended in the past have enjoyed traveling on the country roads in Tioga County PA and therefore have requested the trip be placed on the calendar again this year. It is scheduled for Saturday, October 13th. The format has been altered a bit for 2007. We have relocated our headquarters and lodging to The Hampton Inn(www.hampton-inn.com/hi/williamsport), 140 Via Bella, at the intersection of Rts. 15 and 180 in Williamsport. The room price is a little higher, but we have some additional amenities. There is an indoor pool, whirlpool and fitness center at this hotel. They also offer 24-hour brewed coffee in the front lounge and a complimentary hot breakfast. Perkins Restaurant and Wegman’s grocery store are located next door. Call 1-800-HAMPTON, or their local number, 570-323-6190 to book your room. Mention group codeVCAto get the club rate. Cut-off date for club rate - September 21.

1 King Bed non-smoking Room, - $119.00
2 Queen Bed non-smoking Room - $115.00

Special arrangements have been made for secure Viper parking on both Friday and Saturday evenings again this year. We’re still working out the details, but this is what is planned thus far. The cruise will begin at The Hampton Inn, promptly at 10 AM. We will cruise some country roads (paved) of Lycoming and Tioga County, visit the PA Grand Canyon followed by lunch in Wellsboro. We’re working on incorporating a visit to the Original WOOLRICH Country Store on the return trip to Williamsport. If you plan to participate in the poker run/cruise, there will be a $50 per car registration fee. Half of the $50 fee will go towards the “Prize ***” and the remainder will go towards lunch in downtown Wellsboro. The final poker card will be drawn at the hors d’oeuvres party back at The Hampton Inn following the cruise. (You must complete the poker run to be eligible to win.) A quick fall meeting will take place at that time as well. Specific dinner plans have not been made this year. Not doing so allows for more relaxation time. You are welcome to join us for any or all of these events. For planning purposes, please let us know you are coming by contacting Ginger at 607-426-0837, or email[email protected]by October 10th. NOTE: If you have the need to drive a vehicle other than your Viper, you are still welcome to join us for these events.

:2tu: Good news!!! If you haven't commited to staying at The Hampton Inn for this cruise, there are a few rooms left. Therefore, the reservation deadline has been extended to September 30th. You will be able to rest in peace!!! As in the past years, overnight parking at the hotel will be secure with an off-duty prision guard watching over the VIPERS both Friday and Saturday night. We have a good group registered as of today!

Call me if you're coming or if you have any further questions!

My snake is still at Don's Performance in Harrisburg. They are making good progress, but it's not out of the woods yet.

I'll be there, but it may be a short notice.... I'll sleep in the car if I have to.

If you're planning to stay in Williamsport for the Grand Canyon cruise and The Hampton Inn is full, there is a Holiday Inn Express right next door. You will still be able to use the private/secured parking for your Viper. If anyone has a problem getting a room please call me (607-426-0837). I can make some other suggestions.

It's not too late to register for this cruise.
We currently have 15 cars registered with 6 more possible.
We have a great, somewhat different route planned again this year...including the Rose Valley Hillclimb again!!!:drive:

Let me know if you're coming so I can count you in for lunch. ([email protected] or 607-426-0837)

Thanks,
Ginger

Just make sure Ed or Dan is not in front of me at the bottom of the hill...:poke: :D

I can behave well othervise, except on curvy roads and hill climbs...

That's right...This road hosts the annual "Rose Valley Hillclimb" which began in 1967.
  • Length - 1.2 miles
  • Elevation Change - Arrpoximately 580'
  • Number of turns - 7
I specifically remember Ed & Carmen saying last year "Wow, Lauri would have enjoyed that hill climb!" They mentioned bringing you up there sometime, but I guess they never did!

See you Saturday ! The sun is expectied to shine!!! :2tu:

We said he would have enjoyed it, we just didn't want to have to wait for him at the top so he wouldn't get lost:D

Thanks to all who came to enjoy this great weekend in the hills of Tioga & Lycoming County. The smiles on the faces of everyone at the end of the cruise gave us great satisfaction after many hours of planning an event such as this. :D We trust you all had as much fun as we did!!!

Glad you enjoyed the wine Bob. You can purchase the wine with the regular label at the winery, however, if you want the PA WV Viper Club label on the bottle, you would need to get those through me. I have some extras of both the Canyon Country Concord and the Mountain White (my personal favorite). :2tu: Let me know anytime and I can bring some to the next function.
