Pioneer Stereo Installation

So I finally managed to track down a Pioneer AVIC N5 for my SRT that looked like it was in good condition and for a reasonable price. I wanted a pop-up style stereo as I did not want to have to cut and/or reshape my dash, and I had my heart set on this one for quite some time, although it was difficult to find as they are no longer made. I am wondering two things- for those who have done this installation before, is there a reliable vendor or source who sells the trim kit/additional adaptors and such that are neccessary for installation? Secondly, how do I go about testing the basic functions of the unit before installation (can I just hook it up to a power source)?
