That's more like it. Now only if they could have some dyno charts like that in the magazines that everyone sees and reads vs a twitter account..

That is about 40 hp more than the best posted so far. It should be approx 540.

A friend of mine asked him the details after he posted that. Bone stock vehicle, approx 4500 miles. I'm going to have to go dyno mine soon (4800 miles)

Jack I'm interested to here more about the one you saw that got 527 since that's within 2 of what mine did.

Ralph made almost 50 hp/40 tq than mine. That's more than can be explained by extra break in miles.

I was there on Saturday (saw the car, but didn't see the run). By the time his car was on the dyno late in the afternoon, it was very hot and humid, so with better air, he'll make even better numbers.

He must have gotten the RG Package. (Ralph Gilles choice of engines on the line) It's good to be the King. :D

A friend of mine is a former Chrysler engine plant manager--he says when the brass wants a motor they don't just pick out a good motor, then check every part and get the best out of the bin to build it with...of course. The last they want to do is send a dud to the brass. I don't think Ralph would expect this kind of treatment, or request it. Its not his style, just corporate life. ;)

That was a SRT demo car that Corsa had back in spring time. It was dyno'ed in Medina, ohio.

Jack I'm interested to here more about the one you saw that got 527 since that's within 2 of what mine did.

It's just a Dyno number, although a good one. If other cars that day were pulling good numbers also, it's the Dyno not the car. I would be curious if any others were on that same Dyno that day? We get too caught up in the numbers, although I will admit a ZR1 pulling better numbers that the GenV on the same Dyno, same day is hard to argue in a magazine article.

Yea, I don't think people are arguing the ZR1 put down a bigger number in that test, however the arguments were that the ZR1 oddly dynod higher than most every other ZR1 to date. I also believe it was mentioned the Viper was on cheapo fuel and heat soaked after being driven right to the dyno.

The two results that I have seen, netted 558RWHP and 554RWHP. This is roughly 20 more RWHP. It doesn't surprise me that his car would net a bit more, lol. These cars should net closer to 600RWHP consistently.

The two results that I have seen, netted 558RWHP and 554RWHP. This is roughly 20 more RWHP. It doesn't surprise me that his car would net a bit more, lol. These cars should net closer to 600RWHP consistently.

You need to show me how you came up with that.

ACRucrazy, I agree with you and it's kind of what I was getting at. Even an apple to apple comparison still has a lot of variables. Its why I don't care much about the numbers. If Ralph's car now traps higher than others, it means more to me.

Assuming 13% (+/-) driveline lossed which we usually see in the Gen 3/4 cars, 640 flywheel hp woudl translate to about 557 at the rear wheels, so this dyno run is right in range. As I said, Saturday afternoon was hot and humid in Carlisle, so in better air, there would be better numbers.

Temps do not matter a lot, those are corrected numbers. Usually in cars with half shafts or CV joints you see 15% losses. Most of these cars have been around 530. That is way diff from ralphs 578. I will dyno mine within the next 30 days - we will see.

If all the engines are hand made don't you think viper should do this with every motor they build given they only made like 4 cars a day? And this is like a question directed at SRT not you personally lol.

I will be the guy this time that says you can't just compare dyno run vs dyno run for different dynos on different days, but probably no one will listen.

The Dynojet is very repeatable over long time periods. If you look, Ralph used the SAE correction and a low value of smoothing, that is very common, therefore, that should give you close values from different locations. The point here is that Ralph's car is putting out about 48 hp more than three different cars done on Dynojets.

The reason people make the comparison is because the people testing should be doing SAE corrections and no matter how much people exaggerate on any forum, different dynos do produce different results, but it really isn't that different. On my cars, I've had them on several different dyno's and all readings were within 10 horsepower. On these forums, almost every Gen IV dynos around 535-550 rwhp and every Gen III seems to be around 450-460 rwhp, and so on.
