Red Fluid?

I just pulled out of the garage and noticed a pool of red fluid on the garage floor (new ACR). I'm assuming the tranny fluid is red... is that right? Crap. Time to get under there I guess. So much for the after work stress relief cruise...

ATF+4 IS red...could be tranny OR Power steering/cooling fan plumbing

It was steering fluid. One of the connectors (where the hoses attach to the steering column directly below the reservoir) was completely loose.

My friend's ACR had the same thing happen to it at the track. Mine was tight when checked, though.

onmy 08 vert i had left rear shock was loose,oil pressure switch was loose sometimes you will find loose things on a hand built car

I'm curious. I thought newer Vipers used the 75W-85 oil in transmissions and it is pale yellow. I also thought the power steering fluid was clear (at least it is in my '06 Charger) so you wouldn't mix it up with ATF. Or my memory is going... can't remember. Maybe Dodge went to ATF in the PS - would like to know. Thanks.

The manual states Mopar Power Steering Fluid +4 or ATF +4. Mine has ATF +4 in it (red).

They are one and the sane...different names (and price/oz!!!) for 2 different package sizes..."Power Steering+4" is a pint while "ATF+4" is a quart!!!

There was a time when PSF needed extreme pressure additives to protect the high pressure vane pump, meaning ATF+additive=PSF. Thanks for the info.
