I am looking to upgrade the speakers in the door panels and want to know if anyone has used JL Audio 6-1/2" component speakers in particular? Will their 6-1/2" speaker fit in the door panels without cutting or trimming? I don't want to fork out the dough only to find out that they won't fit in place of the stock speakers.

Well Mike, if you do go with a 6.5 inch speaker, you will have to install them in the door trim panel, not the speaker box located behind the panel. This works, but you're going to have to do a little bit of creative installation. If you want to see what I mean, simply take a punch-awl and stick it in the side of your speaker grill. Pull it out and do the same on each side of the grill carefully so you don't bend it too badly. Once you see what's inside, you'll understand.

Almost forgot! Just in case -- do a search; there are tons of stereo/speaker posts out there...

Good luck!
