resetting car computer

I'm a new guy here. Now I know where you get those neat icons

.After installing the smooth-tubes,K-N air filters,Borla 3-inch cat-backs do I need to disconnect the battery to reset the computer or will it do it itself maybe taking a little longer?

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but there should be no reason to reset the controller unless you have tripped a sensor light. If that is the case, you should figure out what the trouble codes are and deduce whether something needs to be fixed or adjusted. Otherwise, the computer is always learning and should eventually adjust to your mods (not the case if you have done major mods). There are ways to help the computer learn faster.
