Santa Dash is a \"GO\"

It's Back! Saturday, November 30

The Santa-Dash / Make-a-Wish Parade Laps, Awesome Racing, Driving School, Street Sessions.

Viper Club Members:

I am pleased to announce that we have been invited as guests and the featured car club in the annual Santa's Dash on the Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving Thursday, November 30 & December 1. Held at Phoenix International Raceway, this event is put on annually by Arizona Sports Racing Association ("ASRA") to benefit one of our club's favorite charities, Make-A-Wish Foundation.
There are numerous levels of participation that each of you may choose to fit your personal goals and objectives. Here is a brief description of each:

SPECTATORS
The track opens at 7AM on both days. Admission is free! Park in the Viper Corral inside the track with all other Viper members. Watch the various cars such as vintage racers, exotics, street cars, racecars, etc. doing hot laps around the 1.5 mile road course. Enjoy food and beverage services throughout the day. Meet and greet other car owners and enthusiasts who want to drool over your car. Watch the 100-minute wheel-to wheel race at 2PM, featuring several Viper racers from our club doing battle against racecars of every make and model.

PARADE LAPS
In addition to the activities described for Spectators above, a noon on Saturday you will be asked to take one of the children from Make-A-Wish Foundation as a passenger in your Viper while you do exhibition laps around the road course. Admission is free, but please bring a small gift for one of the kids (1/18th scale Viper model cars are very popular.)

DRIVING SCHOOL
Begins promptly at 8AM each day with drive-around exercises inside an instructor-driven van. Receive classroom instruction from quality high performance driving instructors, and do hot laps around the road course in your Viper taking an instructor as your passenger. This is a highly disciplined environment with emphasis on safety and car control techniques. Experienced Viper road racers will be on hand to mentor your progress and assist with any mechanical issues. This is recommended for Viper members who have not attended a high- performance driving school in their Viper. We all started in the same place. The cost is $149 for Saturday or $249 for both Saturday and Sunday. You will also pay an annual membership fee to ASRA of $40. Requires a driving helmet, long-sleeve cotton shirt and pants, with flat-bottomed shoes.

STREET CAR SESSIONS
Begin promptly at 8AM each day. Recommended for Viper drivers who have previously attended a high-performance driving school. Do hot laps at speeds much greater than you can drive on the street with other Vipers around the road course. This is not a race. It is for fun only. Passengers are welcome. For safety purposes, passing is restricted to certain sections of the track and each driver's skill level and behavior is monitored closely by workers at each corner station. Any irresponsible or unsafe conduct on the track results in immediate expulsion. Experienced Viper road racers will be on hand to mentor your progress and assist with any mechanical issues. The cost is $129 for Saturday or $219 for both Saturday and Sunday. You will also pay an annual membership fee to ASRA of $40. Requires a driving helmet, long-sleeve cotton shirt and pants, with flat-bottomed shoes.

RACE SESSIONS
This is reserved for advanced drivers holding competition licenses in fully-prepared racecars. We have already received commitments from several experienced Viper road racers, including Phil De La O, Bob Stevenson, Fat Albert, Frank Parise and Robert Dopp who will be wheel-to-wheel racing against all the other racecars at this event. This group will provide exciting entertainment for all those in attendance, especially when the endurance race commences at 2PM on Saturday. Racers, please contact Frank Parise with any questions at 520-906-6844.

SOME FINAL THOUGHTS
This is great fun for the family, especially the kids. There will be food and beverage service available to everybody throughout the day, plus a barbecue on Saturday evening. As in past years, we hope to have between 20 and 30 Vipers in attendance.
Our local Viper race team, Desert Venom, will provide free technical assistance and hospitality to all Viper club members. If you have any questions about your car or need advice on anything Viper-related, this is your opportunity to take advantage of their expertise. They will be here to have fun, make new friends, and help you enjoy an exciting Viper experience.
Many of our members have expressed the desire to experience more in the way of track-related events. I hope this is a new beginning that continues throughout the next year.

HOW TO REGISTER
If you plan to attend or if you have questions, please telephone our Track Director, Robert Dopp. Robert will help you decide which level of participation is best for you, and he will assist in the actual registration process. Robert can be reached at 480-802-0097. In Robert's absence, you can also contact Frank Parise at 520-906-6844.

WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU BY NOVEMBER 20.
