I had not considered it for the top. However, I did scotch guard the seat inserts. Anybody know if it is real suede or the alacantra (sp?) that seems so popular these days.
There is most lkely a top sealant on the top already, and you should not put a standard version of scotchgard over it. When the top will no longer bead water when it's dry to start with, there are several waterprofing sealants made specifically for canvas type convertible tops, one of the easiest to use being the Porsche top sealant.
