I have been looking for a 2005 comm edition or a low priced 2008 srt 10. I have a 1994 black rt/10 with a 3 piece hardtop from API engineering with 17k miles on it. Long story short. I found an 05 white commemorative for sale 3 hrs away with 3500 miles on it and the guy seems honest and wants to trade do to some personal situation hes in. Is 25k plus my car a gd deal? That puts mine at 30k and his at 55k. Yay or nay boys n girls or should I be looking at 2008's? Thanks Dr. V

Hell no. A 1994 w/ 17k on it is worth more than 30k. There are Gen 4's going for 60k w/ employee pricing and rebates. Tell the guy to take a hike, do a little more research and get your gen 4.

Uh, no it's not. :omg: $30K for a 94 is about right.

Any other year, I would agree with you, but they made 3,000+ cars in 94. I say try to negotiate a better deal(maybe the car and $22K), but I would say you will be MUCH happier with the 05. :drive: :drive:

You should NOT be paying over upper 40s for an 05 in the current market.

I think 30 is fair for a 94 with 17000 miles, but I think 55 might be a bit strong for an 05, even with it being a commemorative edition. I think your car and 20ish would be a better deal

Whats killing me is that I just found out that there is still a note on his car. And he wants to pay it off.

Wanting to and being able to are two different things, it's not your problem.

I think 22 + your car is still to much. I would verify payoff, make check out to his lender for payoff and send it myself.

Good idea RayC. You don't want a lean on the car. The thing is, do you want an 05 more than what you have. 22,000 can buy a lot of goodies if you want more HP. Preaching to the choir but get a carfax. Find out if he got it fixed privately. Ask around. neighbors, if he is that close. Sounds like he needs money but you never know.

My biggest snag right now is that i love the white in 2005. But i know that I would love 600hp from the o8. But im having color problems with the 2008s. This *****!

Keep in mind depreciation, until things start improving in the world...those 08s are only going to be beaten by the 09s in depreciation. Think something like 35% in the first year.

Ya enthusiasts tend to over estimate until they get in the market. It makes us all feel better. :( You have to, it's a coping skill!

Well I went and looked at the 2005 comm edition yesterday. The car is very nice but the seller is still thinking about my offer of 23k and my car. We are getting close.

$27K for your car is a good deal. I would move on this! Granted he probably got the car for $40ish but still a pretty good deal for an 05 trade up.
