I know the new Viper's chin is a way of incorporating aero into the front end, but it just seems a bit exagerated and "shovel-nosed" to me.

Yes... clearly the idea of an integrated splitter was Hennessey's idea as he holds US patent no. 45995949-69.33494 on it.
