Speedo Question

My friend has a Gen3 car and wants to put a 3:55 gear in it does anything need to be done to the speedometer? If so what needs to be changed so that everything work correctly?

Nothing needs to be changed for the speedometer. The vehicle speed signal is created by the antilock braking system monitoring the wheel rotation.

Changing your tire size (I'm assuming it is the front tires that are monitored) to one with a different circumference, however, will throw off the speedometer.
