Just got home from the SRT Drive Experience in Portland Oregon. They did have the '08 Vipers to run. 2 SSG's, 2 blue & 2 Viper Red. Coupe and roadster in each. Said they will soon have the Challengers to drive.

So given your expereince, would you say it was worth the money or would you rather take that same amount of $$$ and put it towards a track day in your own car?

Exactly! You post up that you're back with NO OPINION? Stop teasing! LOL

How was your experience. How did you like the '08's compared with your GEN 2?

Folks, the '08's feel like completely different cars from the gen 2 cars. The drive by wire throttle & variable timing have the power come on more smoothly. Only got to drive the Vipers on a short autocross type track. Rode with an instructor on the open track & can definantly feel a difference. From an SRT 10 view, less difference except for the low RPM throttle response and smoother power delivery. Wasn't able to tell difference in braking and handling from a gen 3 to the '08 in my limited exposure.

Paid $400 with my VCOA discount. Being able to beat on someone elses cars for a day is great. Something akin to a beginning high performance class w/out the class room. So the fun on the track at less than the greater expense of a school. Won't do it every year. Met up with some other VCOA members and thats always fun!
