Sticky dash?

I have been working on some winter detailing on the vipers. I have a 2000 gts and the dash finish as well as the windshield pillars are tacky like sticker adhesive. I made the mistake of trying to wipe it down and now it has lint stuck to it. My other 2000 is fine. Both have 14k miles so what could it be? My dad owned it before me and he is just as meticulous as me on maintenance. He does not use a bunch of crazy cleaners or protectants that I know of. Just a squirt of glass cleaner to do the windows and wipe the dash as you go. Any of you have this problem, how do you make in look clean again

I've used simple green to take that residue like that off quickly.

Armorall has been know to do that. Used it once on my dd and after that happened I've not touched that stuff again.

probably gonna need some kind of cleaner, then reapply a protectant other than armor all

You guys think it is something that got applied to the dash? Even the defroster vents are tacky as well? What scares me is that the towels looked like they scratched it, left streak like marks.
