Looked but could'nt find the answer. Was wondering what was the limits of the stock clutch, as far as "horsepower and torque" I have seen a few build with 600+ hp and stock clutch :omg: and was just curious as to what it was. Thanks

My factory clutch held up fine at my 650 rwhp level. Never slipped or chattered. I installed a dual-disk when I did the engine build though, as I knew it wouldn't likely hold 800+ rwhp.

As with Tony, I am still on my OEM clutch pushing over 640whp and 600+whp. My uncorrected dyno numbers were 670whp and it was still holding on tight. It has held fine on the street and racing events (both cold/hot weather) despite my aggressive shifting.

I was still on my stock clutch at 630rwhp with a Paxton at 44k miles on my first Viper when it sold. Still hadn't slipped...

Not a Gen III, but on my 99 Roe car, the stock clutch held to 720 RWHP, past that when I bumped it to almost 800RWHP, it was slipping bad.

As I always say, unless you have an actual reason to change away from the stock clutch, leave it alone. The stock clutch is excellent for most applications. The fastest way to ruin the drivability of the car is to put in a clutch you dont need or a clutch that is the wrong type for an application.

The OE LUK clutch is pretty robust as long as you don't abuse it.

As above, my 2004 Paxton car's OE clutch held 728 rwhp without issue. When I modded the engine further to over 900 rwhp / 860 rwtq I upgraded to a Spec Stage 3 plus, which has worked very well.
