Subwoofer grille removal advice

I understand the grille is just pushed on... However, I'm unsure if it's only the metal mesh part that pulls off, or does both the plastic ring and mesh pull off at the same time...

I tried to pull gently but it would not budge. I figure that I better ask somebody before trying again.

Reason for removing it is because the sub rattles - it sounds like the speaker wire is touching the cone...

it dose pull off but the best thing to do is to remove the rear plastic surround and then you get access to the speaker box. you can then remove the grill also.

Now I'm confused... What do you mean with "rear plastic surround" ?

the cover that is behind the seats. The sub box is behind it and you can only get to box with this cover off
