I just jumped on the Drive SRT website and saw this and well... let's just say I got a funny feeling. :rolaugh: There's a few more photos I don't think have been posted over on the site.--RS

Sweet.
Those exhaust tips are growing on me. The paint looks good indoors and outdoors both. :2tu:

I noticed that yesterday on the SRT site. I am guessing that will be the final ride height, I hope?!? Those front fenders still bother me a bit but the car does look good. I can't wait to see the 6 vent hood. I'm a sucker for SSG as well, so fingers are crossed that color comes out as well...

You know what is interesting? Those really aren't even true tips. They are metal trim pieces. The actual physical end of the exhaust pipe "floats" in the middle of that piece inward further toward the center of the car.

Holy crap...I think this is the best picture of the car yet, although I know the Launch Edition would look best in my driveway!

Sadly, no, that's still the show car. You can tell from the perfect hood gap and trunk lid gap. It's not a Viper without gaps.

Beautiful color!

For anyone who's seen this color in person......how close to the ultimate-red-color, Lizstick Red (on Saleen S7s) does this paint job come? In photos it looks like a multi-layer, copper, silver, red, candy not-sure-what-else trick paint.....but that could just be the photos. Thoughts from those who've seen it in daylight?

ColoViper saw it in person at Mile High and commented that in the sunlight in looked like it was plugged into an electrical socket. The color was vibrant and had different shades of hue.

I have heard the color will not be available until April and that the price is going to be very expensive. Looks great in person.

I've seen it in person a few times now ... indoors in new york and outdoors at mid-ohio. However haven't seen the saleen in person so can't compare the two.
I will say you're on the right track with this paint, it is trick.
It's almost like it has these very small particles of a very "light hue" sprinkled throughout it... like a very light orange or dark yellow or something if that makes sense.
You know how the falcon f7 is more orange with red highlights... this is the oposite with more red and orange highlights. But ya gotta see it in the sun to appreciate it.

Not sure if this is that color that your talkin about, but this is an S7 Twin Turbo I shot a while back. Seems like a plain metallic red to me.

That S7 is plain color not multi hue like Beryillium. Paint like Stryker Red is metal flake where coating on the flakes is unique and reflects light uniquely to change color at light angles and different shades. I know as I own the 95' Saleen "BASF Mystic Edition" Speedster and it uses this technology. Changes 17 different colors. 1st commercial vehicle with this technology available in the world in 95'. Just a base coat clear coat. Primer color affects final hue so as long as you document primer, base and clear it is easy to duplicate.

Thanks for the reports. The "very expensive" part is unfortunate but it'll certainly keep the numbers of those produced down a bit.

The S7 above isn't the color I was talking about. The Lizstick Red is a bit darker:

though it never looks as cool in pix as it does in person. Seems like SRT is taking a page out of the super-trick-color book with the Gen V offering. Good for them (and us)!

I hope when Ralph mentioned that they were going to be working on a new version of the SSG that they make a SSG that resembles the Stryker Red in fashion/style. This color has really grown on me. It looks sinister. With the right wheels, you have a winner.
