Tachometer Lags / Sticks

Since new my tach always lags or sticks when getting on the throttle. The needle moves up smoothly at first, then hesitates slightly, then jumps and continues to accelerate and does so repeatedly to red line. Is this a common SRT-10 problem? Any fixes other than getting DC to warranty replace the tach?

My tach has worked fine since day 1. I'm not sure it is able to keep up with the engine in 1st gear though.

sounds like you have a bad ground wire on the tach that is making a bad connection

Thanks for the advice. I do oil changes myself and haven't had the need to ever bring it into my not-so-local Dodge Dealer who has 2 Viper Techs. I've almost 4,000 miles and will wait to see if anything else needs warranty repair before bringing it in just for the tach.
