I walked into the garage tonight and saw that my track pack tires/wheels were gone. They must of felt sorry for me and left these Gen2 tires and wheels on the car

These are the 335 X 18 Hoosier drag radials, they are 26" diameter, therefore, 1" shorter than the OEM tires. They do not fit without some minor modifications. The disadvantage is the short sidewall, however, they will help counter the high first gear ratio in the Gen 5.

...........The track locals are gonna think you're rocking the same car with a body kit or something.
-if they even notice a difference. :rolaugh:

It's awesome that you're doing the same stuff with the new car as the old one,.........that for me, is one reason to not buy a new car. -yet
Even though they are made for it, I'd feel bad going from the dealership to the track.

Do you know how they install

Of course not, noob bait, this gen5 forum is like a magnet for judgemental posts with no experience or knowledge. Instead of asking how & is it safe, it's like other posts, "that's crazy".

I'm assuming the strip is coming up within the week, looking forward to you posting some impressiveness soon, my friend.

Come on, we all know "spacers" is just a code word for washers from Home Depot!

I really hope you don't run some phenomenal record of a number. Because you know what happens if you do so - 1BADGTS will idolize you. For years.

The spacers are made by H&R. Call them for a dealer that is close by. You want the 25mm model.

I am installing a shift light, when that is done it will be time and I am not going to use a glowing snake to shift. My guess is either next Wednesday or the Wednesday after.

When are you headed to the strip?

I took the car out tonight for the first time with the Hoosiers. There is no argument, they feel different. The car feels more like a G2 in 1st gear. whether this helps the 1/4 ET is still a question mark.

As far as speed in fourth gear, with the Hoosiers the car does 44 mph at 2000 rpm in 4th gear. The Hoosier actually measures less than 26", there is about 1-1/4" difference between the Hoosiers and the Corsa's. Neither tire measures as denoted in their respective spec's.

As far as how they drive on the street. With the Hoosiers at 26 psi I could not tell much difference from the Corsas. They are very passable as a street tire in dry conditions. However, I hit a down pour and they **** in the wet. In comparison the Corsa P-Zero's are extremely able in wet conditions.

Keep in mind these tires have one purpose, the drag strip. Also, the pictures are a little deceiving, I just let the jack down, so the suspension had not settled. Keep in mind they are only about 5/8" a side diff. I will take some better pics this week. One other item, you have to push/tap the emergency brake cable in 1/2" to the rear to clear the wheel ID.

This is an experiment, it is not a guarantee that they will improve the ET. They sure make the car feels like it has more torque! For those that have not driven a Gen 2, the torque curve is higher for the Gen 5 and the 1st gear is higher, in short, the low end acceleration is not as good as a Gen 2 that has a few mods.

Weather and my schedule are slowing the process down. It has rained for ten days, however, this weekend is clear which means an attempt at autox. Corsa will then have the car for a week. Hopefully the following Wednesday will be dry, that would mean the dragstrip I will take some pics of the car on Sunday.

Let's see some more pics...aIt snd numbers!
