On Sunday 16th August 2009, Top Gear TV presenter James May attempted to break the World Record for the largest ever Scalextric track.

The Scalextric team and thousands of volunteers accompanied James May at the famous old banked Brooklands race track, in Surrey, England.

Using over 20,000 pieces of Scalextric track to cover nearly three miles; the team had to negotiate track across rivers, roads, ponds, through offices, up stairs and through tunnels.

Tune in to BBC2 on Tuesday 17th November at 8pm to watch James May's TOY STORIES and see the incredible Scalextric World Record attempt in full.
