Anyone know why the V1 radar detector prices are higher on eBay ($439 and up) than on the V1 site ($399)? Am I missing something here? Are the eBay units hacked to give any additional range/use/sensitivity/features?

Valentine has no 3rd party dealers...they only sell direct.
So, an ebay dealer must buy from Valentine and mark it up.

The best way to ensure that you are getting the latest version, is to buy direct. They have running changes to their units.

Nor, for that matter, can I see any reason to not buy directly from Valentine.

I have no idea why these people are bothering to sell new on eBay, it makes no sense, unless of course people are paying more than they would directly from Valentine?!

One more thought. If you buy direct from Valentine...they have your name listed as the owner of the unit's serial number.

If you buy elsewhere and later need service or upgrades...their policy is to return the unit to the name listed as the owner...not to who sent it in....to help protect against theft.

I have one used that I don't use anymore if anyone is interested.

Oh, BTW -if you call Valentine and ask to order a "refurbished" one, you get the same warranty and save $50 more.

There are ALWAYS items on ebay that if you do your research and shop, can be beaten.
I don't know WHY everyone thinks that ebay has such good deals.

The best deals I have ever received were on Ebay, both new and used.

For most things on eBay they are cheaper but I did notice this with the radar dectors when I was going to purchase one. I bought one for my Florida trip and nearly bought it off eBay at about $415 and then ended up buying direct from V1 for $399.

Does everyone here feel the Valentine One is the best radar laser dectector made. It is hard to choose as every test says something different.
