Valve adjustment?

My GTS has 23k miles on it, and the valves seem to be noisier than most Vipers. Someone in VCA suggested I need a valve adjustment. If so, I'd prefer to have a Viper tech do it. What is the approximate cost of having a Viper tech do the job? What effect does such an adjustment ordinarily have on the engine's performance? ( I realize this will certainly vary from case to case, but I wonder how this ordinarily affects performance, such as in the quarter mile.) Thanks.

Reggie, do you still have stock rockers? If you do I'm not sure if you can adjust them. The Noise could be from worn valve guides. If the noise is in the tappet a light noise is usually from too much leakdown in the plunger. Big clicks can be from the tappet check valve not seating. If the strong click also has excessive clearance between the stem and rocker arm as the valve closes the tappet assembly may need to be removed and cleaned and/or the tappet replaced.
