My new 96 Viper was hit in a parking lot, and has a chip
out of the hood about the size of a quarter dollar. Does anyone know what the hood is made of? Is it standard fiberglass? I have a friendly body shop who can fix it for ~700 and they figure they can just use fiberglass as they would on an older vette?

Please advise if there is some special compound of some sort needed.

thanks
Tomer..

I believe the hood is some sort of special composite maerial like the space shuttle..

The wierd smell associated with new Vipers is caused by the melting of a rubber compound that can be found surrounding two large oval shaped shiny things on the back of the Viper.
