Viper won\'t idle!! Any tricks?

Hey all,

I just went to start my 1994 RT/10. I went through a few attempts to start with a jump. Finally, I replaced the battery. After several more tries, I got it to run. However, it still won't self-idle.
Just wondering if anyone here has had this happen to them. I'm thinking it could be a sensor (i.e.: Throttle Position Sensor). Looking to see if there are customary causes before breaking out the test light.

Thanks,
Paul

Mark,

That sounds logical. I haven't had this problem any other year. Do you think it would require a long trip?

Thanks,
Paul :2tu:

Thanks for the input guys!
I appreciate it.

Well, it's still nice out. I'll guess I'll just have to go for a spin!

Have a good one!

Have you reset the throttle cable?

Also, clean the IAC. Easy to do, maybe 30 minute job really taking your time. Remove from passenger throttle body, remove hose and insert in airbox, remove two screws and take IAC in half....clean everything with sensor safe cleaner.

Resync the throttle bodies. There was a TBS many years ago to install locks on the throttle cables... basically a screw/washer that you screw into the buttons that adjust the throttle cables... they lock in the adjustment.
