It’s official! With the announcement of the next Viper Owners Invitational to be held in Detroit, Aug. 27–30, 2008, that brings the number of these major Viper blowouts to a perfect 10, or to put it another way, one max party to go with every cylinder in our favorite engine. VOI.10 (That really has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?) is coming home to the Motor City.

VOI.10 Highlights
Whether you caravan, trailer your Viper or just hop on a plane, once you get to Detroit, there is a whirlwind of activities scheduled for the event. Attendees and their guests will stay at Detroit’s two newest luxury establishments—the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel and the Motor City Casino and Hotel. Completed within the last year, both of these hotels offer first-class accommodations and easy access to Detroit’s casinos as well as other citywide attractions.

One of the most anticipated activities of VOI.10 will be the tour of the Viper owner’s Promised Land—the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant where Vipers have been built since 1996. After arriving on Wednesday, VOI.10 attendees will get guided tours of the facility and see up close how each Viper is carefully assembled by some of the most skilled craftspeople in the auto industry. Ask anyone who has already taken this tour—it’s an experience you’ll never forget. Thursday and Friday will also include driving events that will allow Viper owners to show off their skills behind the wheel.

In addition, the timing of this event includes the Detroit Grand Prix, scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 29-31. Those who come to VOI.10 will be able to attend the event and watch competitors from all over the world take on the challenging Belle Isle race course. Viper owners who attended the Detroit Grand Prix in 2007 said it was one of the best times they’ve ever had.

Back at the hotels, both Dodge and the VCA have planned spectacular banquets with an incredible array of food and beverage along with some top-notch entertainment. These social events are a great way for you to renew friendships and relive the glory of the day’s events.

Plans are also well underway for an exciting Viperabilia exhibit and those who have attended in the past know that this is always one of the most popular attractions at a Viper Owners Invitational. Suppliers and vendors will be on hand with many unique and fascinating items that a discriminating Viper owner will just have to have.

Make Plans Now to Attend
As we said, all roads lead to Detroit. We will be sending more information by the beginning of March on how to register, so stay tuned. It’s time for your Viper to come home and we hope to see you and all of your Viper friends in Detroit this August.

Bob Carroll - National VCA President
George Farris - National VCA Vice President
Chris Marshall - National VCA Treasurer
Jeff Pilgrim - National VCA Secretary

I spoke with Beth today at VCA headquarters, and she stated that we will get a link soon to register with the specifics as the e-mail stated. However she did alude to possibly around $1000 per person to attend, plus hotel. That was'nt anything concrete. Just sharing what I heard. Either way I can't wait, it's gonna be awesome!!

That is incorrect and there should be NO prices quoted yet of which I am aware.

I was only sharing what Beth said to me today. That's all, she was guessing. I did say not concrete.

At that price I would have to say, I would not be able to attend. That would be almost $2K after all is said and done WITHOUT transportation of the car. OUCH. I hope Chris is right and they are really wrong.

how much was registration last VOI?

$850.00 per person I think. I was there and it was fantastic worth the cost but it was Vegas. Maybe Detroit won't be quite as much but if they promise to keep making the Viper for another 25 years and continue the VOI's it would be worth the $1000.:2tu:

Y2K,
Has there been mention of any special edition car for VOI10, similar to the VOI9 coupe? Or, have you heard of any other special edition runs for '08 (VOI9, VCA coupe, FE coupe, FE GTS, Comm. coupe, etc.?). Thanks.

There is no reason to hope she is wrong (misinformed would be more corrrect), as the price will be well under $1K a person. I don't know that the pricing or the schedules have been finalized, but expect they will be shortly. Would a Cedar Rapids guy lie to you?

The cart before the horse: Unless we truly show up in masses and clearly demonstrate our love for the car, then you can probably write the Viper's epitaph. We need to sell this one out and quit whining about "ads" for other vehicles - that is how they can justify the Viper program. Or you could go to the Corvette Owners Invitational that Chevy spends millions to host. Oh that's right - they don't.

As for Vegas vs. Detroit, the VOI's are all about sharing good times with both old and new Viper friends. Some like to gamble, while others like the automotive aspect of it. This will be the best VOI yet and there is not a better place to host it on this planet if you are a true "car guy" (or gal). Start thinking about the birthplace of the car and truly embracing everything Viper.

Lie? :omg:Here? :omg:Iowa people? :omg:Naaaa never...:2tu: By the way, will you be driving to VOI or trailering? I will be using my enclosed trailer only because I have a Gen 1 and I don't ever use the soft top. I would love to drive it there, just can't risk the bad weather possibility, ya know? Would like to hook up with other KC members and drive along though.... even if I have the trailer.:drive:

I am VERY excited about VOI 10 and can't wait to go! I hope our Viper community shows up in full force to show the Chrysler people that we LOVE these cars and want to see them continue for many, many years to come! I'd love to see more Vipers at this VOI than ever before!! Who's in?

We will be driving and probably bring along the SRT8 as a chase vehicle, as my sons will be going as well. Of course my kid may prefer to drive his SRT4, so we shall see. We will be part of a very large caravan with people already committed to joining us from as far away as Arizona! We would be delighted to have you join us.

Oh, and there are a LOT of Kansas City VCA people that plan on going. Knowing full well the importance of a GREAT turnout in Detroit (do or die for the Viper program?), I suspect you will be getting something from your Kansas City VCA to help defer the costs of attending. But only for those that are KC VCA members... :2tu:

Darn it i wont be able to attend. I will be in TN racing. This is right in my back yard too. :(
That is one race weekend I would skip unless you couldn't get out of it. My guess is that you will never see another VOI closer to you again. As many have figured out by now, this one almost didn't happen...

That one isn't my call, as Bill Corum is the KC President. He, along with the other KC board members, are working on a VOI plan and I am sure you will hear from them shortly!
