Was I a \"Tuner\"?

I like this term "tuner". When I first started drag racing cars and trying to get them to go faster I was called a hot rodder, back yard mechanic, gear head, even trouble maker. Trying to make those 428 Cobra Jets go faster by raming in more air, different collector lenghts on the headers, Cool Cans (now I haven't seen that subject brought up here yet!), port matching, aluminum flywheels, air mixture ratio's, different spark plugs, lower gears, WOW WOW!I must have been a "Tuner"!

Now I am trying to ram in more air, different exhaust, aluminum flywheels, lower gears all on a '97 Viper. My what a differnce 30 years makes! Will someone please call me a "Tuner" - john
