wax safe car wash

is it just me or does wax safe car wash soap ****? Since I've owned the car I've only washed the car with dawn then immediately rewaxed, just quick detailing between waxing, but i decided to try a wax safe car wash after getting rained on one day. I used the meguiars NXT wash, and i noticed it left a weird sticky feeling on my car, not smooth, not good. The only way to get the finish decent after the wash was to use liberal amounts of quick detail. I dont know what im getting at in this post, im just ranting. I guess there will never be a substitute for a real wash and a fresh coat of wax.
