What gears for open track events?

Someone is selling a used Gen II GTS with 4.11 gears. Is this better than stock for track and street? What is stock?

What track, road race or drag? 4.11s are insane but makes 6th usable

4:11 is strictly for drags and your gas mileage will really ****. For road racing most are happy with the 3:07 stock. I use 3:45 but sometimes wished I had the stock gears for longer tracks. Too many shifts = longer lap times.
