V1 is hands down the best at detecting. But its sensitivity leads to more false alarms. I always say I can deal with false alarms as long as I get the greatest distance of warning when its real

I love my V1. It does get a little squawky in town but I can say that as long as you look up and see if it's the Ka then you know whether it's legitimate.

As far as detection in town, if a cop is within 3-4 blocks in any direction with radar on, it will let you know. That's my favorite part because I know not to rip on it or spin the tires from a light if a cop is in the area. When you are on the interstate, most State Cops use laser anyway so you are screwed there regardless unless you get a jammer.

****** 9500ix; the GPS anti-false technology allows you to run it in highway mode all the time, where its range is pretty darn good. I think mine's saved me at least once already, in only a few months of ownership. Also nice for when you're an infrequent visitor to metro areas with speed cameras, as it will alert you to their marked locations. Regular database updates are available for a reasonable subscription.

******, but judging by the number of Valentines around, I'd say you can't go wrong with that either.

How do you hardwire it to your mirror?

I have a beltronics and it *****. It rated real high with testing, but I've had V1 before and it is definitely the best.

Depends on which beltronics model, I think. The STi-R Plus is the same model as the ****** 9500ci with some slight firmware differences.

The best detector is the V1, but the ****** 9500ci/STi-R comes really close and has a slew of modern features.

The V1 is the most chatty by far (false positives as well), but has patented directional indicators and number of signals (using dual antennae).

The ****** has less falsing at the risk of suppressing a real positive, but also has an updatable list of non-radar risks, like known red light camera and speed cam positions. Also has the ability (ad $$) to hook into subscription based ****** Live! where crowd sourcing and app based 'navigation' can show new entries in real time.

The 9500ci/STi-R (specifically over the 9500ix and Magnum etc.) can also be integrated with the laser shifter ZR4 (read jammer), a decent laser jammer according to everything I've read. The 9500ci/STi-R is an installed system, whilst the V1 and 9500ix etc are your traditional mount-on-the-windshield affairs.

Also one thing that may be significant is that the Bel/****** are Spectre invisible (radar detector sniffing guns), whilst the Valentine one is definitely not Spectre invisible.

Hope that muddies your waters more. :p
