I am looking for copys of A/F ratio dyno sheets from 03 and 04 SRT10's.
We ran 3 SRT10's on the Dynojet this weekend, 2 were stock and 1 was highly modified. The cars went way rich at WOT. ( 10.5-11.0 between 4400 rpm and 5800 rpm ) I am curious to see if this is a common occurence. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so what have you done to correct it?
Please e-mail or post your sheets. :2tu:

Brian, please let us know what you discover.

As an aside, while I accept the relative values demontrated on the dyno Saturday across the 15 Vipers tested, I personally am VERY SKEPTICAL about the absolute numbers with regard to their accuracy, and therefore, meaning. I am NOT a fan of either "faith based" or "black box autocalibration" of these devices as touted by their operators. They are a great reference tool, but without frequent and careful 3rd party calibration and validation (using physical standards directly referencing to the Nat'l Institute of Technology...formerly Nat'l Bureau of Standards... or a similar entity) hardly an end-all authoritative validation of a given car's actual numbers...in MY opinion.

As there were many sad, disappointed faces leaving the dyno session...all planning to call the complaint line of the supplier of their latest upgrades... I would suggest that we remember Charlie's comment that went something like "Hey, Brother,Dodge has given us a car that will go 190 mph right out of the box...who cares what the dyno says !!!"

I heard that mustang dyno's will give more accurate #'s due to real time load bearing.

turbo & sc cars have a hard spooling up on the dynojets

Viper585, here is a copy of my A/F dyno sheet. Disregard the A/F dropoff at 2800 rpm, that was driver error, I blipped the throttle.
The stock 03 SRT10 was almost an exact duplicate of my A/F reading.

Steve, I understand the point you were making in your post. I am not concerned with the HP. and TQ. numbers as a whole. I did some quick calculations and it looked to me that as a group, we were down about 5% on our readings. I was a little surprised that our correction factor was at 1.0, this could explain lower than projected numbers. I also have to mention that the guys at Automotive Specialists did a great job taking care of our cars and running the event.

What I am seriuosly concerned about is that the SRT10 cars were no where near a 13/1 air fuel ratio at WOT. I have contacted a couple well respected tuners looking for advice. I will let everyone know what I discover. :2tu:

If everyone was running rich, it could be the DYNO that was off! Seems odd that all the cars ran rich.

I'm going to schedule my dyno for the end of the week. Problem is, is that I'm at 5300ft so there might be a larger correction factor. I will post-up as soon as I'm complete.

On a side note... On my C5 we could use LS1 edit to adjust a/f ratios, which is great for us guys at altitude. I'm new to the Vipers and wanted to know what it takes to adjust a/f ratios on these cars (specifically SRT-10's). Flash, chip, pcm tune? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Interestingly, since I have a port welded into my cats pre and post, we tested the A/F ratio both twice each. Will post later but found consistantly that the post cat A/F ratio ran 0.8 richer than pre cat. Odd...

Any ideas as to why?

Ok, I had a very informative talk with Mark J. at Woodhouse today.
Mark let me know that the SRT10's that they have dynoed so far have the same A/F ratio as mine and the others we dynoed Saturday. He said this is typical for this car.
He also said that through tuning of the A/F ratio there is another 35-40 hp. and tq. to be gained.
Woodhouse has done a few of these cars and dyno tested them for real world results.
He also said that when they tune the cars they are shooting for a 12.8/1 A/F ratio at WOT.
Mark spent quite a while on the phone with me answering my questions. He is a very knowledgable guy and told me to call anytime I had a question. ( he seems to be cut from the same mold as Bill P. where does Bob W. find these guys....:)
It looks like the car will be on its way to Woodhouse for Bellangers, high flow cats, and the appropriate dyno tuning. :2tu:

Ps. anyone interested in a set of new generation Arrow cylinder heads for a SRT10 should give him a call, you might be pleasantly surprised at what he has to tell you.
