I've gone 11.8@120 very easily, but I've got a clutch that's on it's last leg, so I wasn't able to slip it as much as I'd like. There's no doubt in my mind that I could at least get an 11.6 on the stock wheels, and maybe an 11.5 or better on some DR's...

Earlier this Spring my '06 Coupe went 11.90 @ 122.34 completely stock. 1.96 60', 70 degrees, and somewhat humid.

Better weather and some more practice I figure I could've improved on that.:)

Just for some clarification, but Motor Trend uses corrected times when they report their numbers, which means the cars never actually turn the times they report.

They are the only magazine out of the big three that do it that way.

Check my sig, 1 week old, bone stock with a cardboard license plate.

Haven't run with my new mild bolt-ons, maybe I'll get out for a run before it gets too cold.

We ran 11.6 at 119mph on a stock 97GTS with MT's and Purner wheels.

What does that mean?

They run the car through the 1/4 mile like normal. They then take the time run and plug it into a rather large equation that re-computes the 1/4 time/speed based on standard conditions (not sure on specifics). Depending on conditions, it could go up or down. 99.9% of the time the corrected times are faster than what the cars actually ran, sometimes by a substantial margin.

There is ongoing debate on the accuracy of the correction equations used, as some say there are just too many variables, and you cannot accurately correct the times. Another major flaw with the system is it does not take into account a cars induction system (N/A, SC, TT), which all react differently to changes in atmospheric conditions.

For example, you will notice that MT does a lot of their testing at Ford's Arizona proving grounds, which is situated a few thousand feet above sea level and is in the middle of a hot desert. There is no way a car tested at that venue will lay down the same times it would if it were at a cool, near sea level location. They correct the number to account for this.

It is a way for them to keep their performance numbers similar, because they test at multiple locations under different atmospheric conditions. It's a B.S. way of reporting performance numbers, but hey, it sells magazines.

11.9X@121 bone stock o3 with run-craps then ran 11.9X right after but @ 120.Xmph

run craps are just that the sidewalls are to hard the tire is to heavy and It is difficult to keep the car hooked up. Best bet... Drag radials, Quaife rearend, the stock rearend is basically junk with its hyd setup, good shocks and springs, its all about keeping your wheels on the ground. Thats what gives you good times. Not sliding and hopping down the track.
