Why is the launch video so tame and upscale? No burnout or drifting?

This video says it all: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/04/04/2013-srt-viper-bites-back-with-640-hp-returns-to-racing-w-vide/

No passion what-so-ever in this marketing video. As if putting the car in front of a Tuscan-style mansion means the Viper is now an upscale, sophisticated exotic. WTH??? The Viper is supposed to be raw, unadulterated fun! A monster that shreds tires and eats corners for lunch. A beast that growls and puts fear into the hearts of lesser cars. Not this crap. Not a car slowly exiting a mansion's driveway heading down to check on the owner's vineyard. Who are they fooling with this marketing effort? All they are doing is making the true viper lovers, the guys that love the rawness, question the direction SRT is taking the car. No millionaire with sophisticated taste is going to say, "hey, maybe the viper is next for me." The Viper is a TRACK BEAST. So why are they selling it as a grand tourer?

I don't hate the car, i actually like it. I just hate how they are marketing it. The damn videos and pictures and color choice so far *****! This is not an old man's car. It's a VIPER.

WTH happened to our hard rock music, burnouts, drifts...or the big F_U to the world. I feel like the guys in SRT had there balls removed....or worse, they all have gone homosexual.

Can we find more things to complain about? The tires are too round. Every square inch of this car screams 'passion'

IMO: The focus at the NY show is on the "new" customer, the "expanded" market, with the GTS.

The raw model will be the SRT and may well get a slightly different intro to the "old" market.

Maybe because they know the Viper faithful will by the car no matter what. They are trying to get new customers to buy the Viper.

I guess the same reason you don't see Ferrari, lambo's or even 911's ads doing that. We're trying to move forwards to a more softer, gentler machine gun hand:)

I think their moving towards a more gentlemen's road and track car and away from the straight muscle car that get's all the kids in mustangs and rice burners wanting to race you all the time.

 I agree, the marketing reminds me of "PaPa's Car". Not like the Corvettes "We still build rocket ships" :usa: Too passive ,not aggressive enough to me for such a fantastic car. Doesn't really do the car justice, in my opinion. Was watching TV last night & saw Tanner Foust in Porshe commercial showing a Viper with another car Red Lite racing with the stupid driver of the Viper smoking the tires badly, making the Viper look like Shi#. Does anyone ever get tired of the Viper being protrayed as a POS ? :dunno: I'd love to see the Viper get the reconition it deserves. :crazy2:

I agree... I'm confused here. Was that a "launch video" or was it something made for some kind of presentation? I would think the marketing guys would do much much better if it were really a full on launch video.

Take Ferrari's video for the F12 for example....

OP take one look at that interior and you will see why. Its now an uppercrust, wine and cheese mobile. I like the overall direction but not the total execution namely the front end design. Im thinking its in the vein of the Porsche 911 GT2. Classy but deadly on a track. I like that comparison.

Funny thing is.... the Gen V Viper hasn't Launched yet... I doubt these two cars have even been on the track yet. When the Viper goes into production, I'm sure they'll make a Launch video... in the meantime, all we have is this REVEAL video.
