Don't use regular worm drive clamps - they will bite into the silicone and could cause it to fail Only use fully lined worm drive clamps - https://www.aircraftspruce.ca/catalog/eppages/breezelinerhexscrews.php (actually better to use fully lined on all hoses, but it's a bare minimum on silicone)- efnfast

On new builds or when i've flushed the system and don't want to use OEM for whatever reason I use Prestone all vehicle pre-mixed green ... I've been using it for over 20yrs and 15 vehicles with no issues.- efnfast

Gen 1 Differential Fluid Change
I was going to do the differential fluid on my Gen 2 shortly ... I don't recall seeing a drain plug on mine ... that's weird they would have given it to a Gen 1 and not gen 2 since drain plugs make the job so much easier.- efnfast

JB weld it back together? (sic) Actually, what do we do for water pumps? The last time I looked there was no stock of them and the only option was to send it to a Viper specialist like Havik or ViperStore to have it rebuilt.- efnfast

Amsoil 75w90 good for late model Gen2 transmissions?
I think I spent 5 or 6 hours reading every thread about T56s and transmission fluid at this point, lol I started getting frustrated when people talked about mixing ATF and two different types of gear oils so I just threw in the Amsoil GL4 75w90 transmission fluid and took it for a drive - felt...- efnfast

Amsoil 75w90 good for late model Gen2 transmissions?
Is Amsoil 75w90 manual transmission/transaxle gear oil a good choice for a late-model (2001+) gen2 t56 transmission (with the syntorque sticker on it). Upsize alternator wiring?
Just as follow up, I finally got around to driving the car. The new wiring makes a huge difference in the real world (i.e., not just idling and stabbing it with my multimeter). The needle on the volt gauge is solidly over the 14 hash mark and stays that way all through the drives. I've never...- efnfast

Another crank no start thread but with a twist
gen 2 vipers don't have a clear flood mode (I'm guessing the crate engine ecu doesn't either). Or don't hold it to the floor, just stab the gas a bit to open the throttle body while cranking to see if it starts when adding air. basically just try starting it by adding more air to see if...- efnfast

Upsize alternator wiring?
I believe I have a gen 2 fan, definitely not a gen 3 and probably not a gen 4 unless that's what the ViperStore sells. Victory is mine! I ran a 2ga wire from the alternator to a 150 amp mega fuse, then to the starter stud. Upsized the alternator ground to 2ga. Effectively - I'm using a brass barb fitting and not the OEM piece, but same difference. It would need substantial additional radial bite in order to fit like my original grommet, more than just swelling or stickinga fitting in could achieve.- efnfast

If the PCM were culprit I would think it would struggle to charge with any loads on it, no? All the threads I've read on here where the PCM was the culprit (and the person installs an external voltage regulator to solve it) all had slow/constant voltage drops while driving.
