Do you know anyone that has installed a Paxton for high altitude use and had a high degree of calibration? I ask because the Gen III Paxton, unlike the Gen II blowers, has the inlet temperature sensor after the aftercooler. That was the primary cause for all the Gen II blower special cals and...
Why do you feel that it is so absolutely necessary to maintain the exact rake when switching to tires with a different radius (i.e. raising the end with reduced radius)? Based on your statements that adjusting the ride height to compensate requires a realignment (which the lack of is much more...
No problem here with SSR's. The ones I have are not cold forged but are semi solid forged. Semi solid forging provides the highest strength and ductility by grain alignment during the forming process. It is like forging but the metal is at a semi molten state. This is the same process used...
I don't think it is an issue.
When you installed the exhaust did you ensure that the sides were oriented properly? The right and left side are not the same length as the engine is not centered exactly.
Not sure about the wear but I have found using a higher friction front pad versus the rear provides better braking stability. This is with 18 all around (sport cups) so the front to rear ratio is out a bit. I use Brakeman 3 fronts and stock rears. Stock pads all around was ok but could not...
No "Oh Please" to yourself. This thread was specific to a Gen III drag racing discussion until vultures turned it into another (one of way to many) Z06 discussions. Thinking that this place needs discussion police to keep us from thinking that anything can be as quick as a Corvette or as Evan...
1Bad please count how many freaking posts you have made about Evan and the drag racing capability of the Z06 here on the Viper web site. I think it is well into the hundreds, probably constituting the majority of your 1600 posts. I do not care if you owned a million Vipers you seem to buy them...
The old 1000 miles per quart has been a reference for eons as a maximum to infer if something is mechanically wrong. It should not be the expected amount any more than you should expect your income to be the minimum wage (I hope you don't).
For my personal reference none of my Vipers has ever...
I wish you would get off your high freaking horse when you respond. It is very tiring. You want to give a teach that Evan is this that and the other. I don't give a rats ass. You avoided the meat of the response entirely. That is a moderate weather day at best, very few runs and with...
I thought you said previously that the Evan runs were under non ideal conditions. Significant improvement possible just by being at a sub 0 DA with great track prep. The improvement would not be directly "driver," though I thought Evan only had 4 or so runs to optimize the driver inputs. Not a...
I agree copper colored material is in all probability from a bearing. The approach to disconnect the fuel injector connector to find the problem cylinder is good. Also listening to the sound frequency and quality. Higher pitch means rod or pin, dull means main. A pin will also sound more like a...
I grant you that. Absolutely the Paxton kit can not get rid of the heat and loses power dramatically. I would estimate an easy 100+ hp loss after just 3 or 4 hot laps. But not necessarily a durability issue as the fuel increase and spark pull back are extreme (note the Paxton does use post...
Ah, but here is a twist. They never set it up with the same inlet cooling and control system to try to understand the reliability as Paxton provided for. They dialed in fuel and spark on their own and ran the aftercooler with city water temperature. In effect it tells little about how a Paxton...
Actually I witnessed that engine running on the dyno. It ran a lot more than that. Lots of tests. Note also it was not running the Paxton inlet air cooling system. And it was done well after the Gen IV engine was under development. Not sure if Dave checks in here anymore (he retired) but since...
Chrysler produced a supercharged engine that passed all the tests also. Turbocharged also. Durability on engine dynamometer tests is a given for any OEM application. And the number of test hours at peak torque and peak power are more in the 500 to 800 hour range (depending on the test...
I will only say that I am thankful I made the right decision to install the Paxton back in 2004. Had I waited for the Roe system (and it was in the wings even back then) I would have endured the last 5 summers driving a stock system and being beaten by the Z06's and such. No way could those...
I have used the folloowing with no ABS issues:
Front Rear
807 757 Stock
833 765 Sport Cups
827 809 V700
These are revs/mile and are directly related to dynamic rolling radius. As you can see I have gone from stock to a much smaller front (bigger number means...
The location of the break is indicative of a pin end seizure or engine overspeed. Close evaulation should show if it was bending (pin seizure) or tensile (overspeed). The primary cause for an overspeed is a missed/wrong shift. Pin seizure (note this could be temporary and no longer be seized)...
6 spokes. The H wheels look like they were designed for Honda. Perfect Honda symbol. 5 of them in fact. Like with Fangs some designers just cannot see their design from all angles.
