    You take the stock rear single piston caliper and disassemble it. Then you bore the caliper from 36mm to 40mm. Put in a new 40mm piston. All you are doing is modifying the internals.

    Check the owners manual or someone here will chime in but that is assuming a working system. Usually it is hold the switch up until it closes and hold it for x amount of seconds, repeat for the down movement.

    Remember that liquid is going to freeze on the coils and start to reduce the heat transfer. Turbulent liquid flow around the coils will highly reduce icing but that also adds to wear on the coils (copper I'm assuming). The wear is very, very, very minor but still a factor.
