I'm sure that I am in the minority but I am just not feeling these ACR's. I think most people are reacting just because the ACR color schemes are different but to my eye, they are ugly and dull. The all black wheels look horrible. The colors don't pop out or look good together. The performance of the car is obviously terrific but the only one that I like so far (visually) is the original red/black one and of course, the gray/satin black concept Viper. The other two tone ACR's don't look good to me at all. of course, the picture quality has been dismal. Some of you high rollers need to spend some money and get a decent digital camera. It doesn't make sense to take pics of a 100k car with a $100 camera.

I'd like to see the ACR in more traditional Viper colors, such as white with blue stripes, the concept gray/ satin black, steel gray/silver stripes and I think the SSG with black stripes on an ACR would look great.

Alex, you have a PM.

Ok, I received the pm warning me about my opinions. I think that criticisms should be allowed because the people building these cars should be aware of our opinions. I own 2 Vipers and have valid opinions. Like I said, I am probably in the minority but maybe some others share my opinions. Does everybody like these ACR colors or are some members keeping quiet because they don't feel comfortable expressing any criticism? Is it better that only positive reinforcement is allowed to be shown or is it better that Chrysler becomes aware of what some of us really think?

I believe that when the GTS was made, the designers had it right. Were there any questionable colors in the Gen 2? They all looked great, from the reds, blues, silvers, bumblebee, steel gray and especially the GTSR with white/blue stripes. Personally, I preferred the ones with stripes but like them all. If we took a poll among car enthusiasts as to which Viper looks the best, I believe that the GTS would win by a substantial margin. I like the SRT10 just fine but there was something more pure and accurate about the Viper's identity in the GTS years. In my opinion, some of these new bright oranges, etc. are not proper Viper colors. Colors have mood and I don't think some of these new colors are appropriate for the Viper's personality.

I am not a moderator or anything to that degree, but I would warn you as well. It is not that you have an opinion in my opinion, but more that you p*** on someone's moment. Obviously someone that paid 100k and took a $100 camera to post it up here was rather excited about their new purchase. You, like most of your posts I have read, took a negative approach to it and criticized it.

I think that you are 100% entitled to your own opinion, and 100% entitled to sharing this opinion. I do however think you should be starting your own thread though to express it, instead of posting in someone's thread that was obviously meant to be a positive post.

I was not aware that members here had bought those cars. The venom red is an interesting color but I think the ACR would look much better with a different wheel, such as the Iforged anthracite with polished lips. It is my belief that the ACR's are too dark overall and need more contrast. A simple change of wheels would do wonders. I'd really like to see a venom red driver stripe on the one above and would definitely like to see more high quality pics with decent cameras. I bought my camera from freakin' Wal Mart, for god's sake and it didn't exactly break the bank (about $500) and has 10 megapixels of clarity. Surely anybody who can buy a new ACR can afford such a camera.

Then quit being a total tool, trying to rag on someone elses car,and go order your own in the more traditional Viper colors. :nono: You've stated your opinion enough on every ACR thread, that everyone gets it. You don't like the ACR's.

I don't like the ACR's? How could any Viper lover not like the '08 ACR? The car is awesome but I am not thrilled with the color/wheel treatments. I also made the point that most of the pics so far have been taken with junk cameras and have lousy clarity. Maybe they would look much better if the pics were of higher quality. Here is a pic of my ordinary SRT10, taken with my Wal Mart $500 digital camera. If anybody in central FL wants some great pics of their ACR for free, let me know. Otherwise, ACR owners; please buy some good digital cameras at Wal Mart! LOL!

So your upset that people aren't taking better quality pics of their car?
You are joking right?

Upset? I don't think I will lose any sleep over it. My point is that, perhaps my criticism toward the ACR colors would be diminished if I saw better quality pictures of these cars. However, I feel strongly that a switch to iforged anthracites Astras would be a great improvement in appearance. Wouldn't a venom red driver stripe look nice on the ACR in this thread? For all I know, maybe the new owner might consider such an addition.

Do you proof read this dribble before you post? Are you now the authority on which color is appropriate for a Viper? Colors have mood? What personality do your Viper's have? :rolaugh: You can't be serious can you? Thanks for the comic relief. You should really post less and just stick to the $500 Walmart camera shots of you trying to catch the mood of your Viper. :lmao:

If I were to buy an ACR, that is exactly what I would do. I think it would look great in some of the available colors and with a few mods (WHEELS!!). I have an '06 with fewer than 400 miles on it (I seem to prefer driving the GTS) and it makes more sense for me to send it out to Underground for a twin turbo than to take a huge loss and spend the same amount to get an '08 ACR. Let me see...........1300rwhp or 540rwhp..................it's a no brainer. I love the ACR but in my position, it would not make sense.

I'm sure Woodhouse is sending out letters right now to new ACR owners advising them to be sure to post better quality pics of their ACR's so that your criticisms of their new cars will diminish. Thanks for the heads up.
You are a funny guy Alex. :2tu:

I guess you don't understand. For example, the orange is sort of a happy, light hearted color. I don't find it suitable for such an aggressive car. Many of the ACR colors and trims don't have enough contrast, particularly with the dark wheels. The violet with black two tone does not contrast enough between the colors. Look at a GTS sapphire/silver striped Viper and that is what I consider to be great contrast and complimentary color combination.

Actually, if I worked at Woodhouse, I would buy a great camera and take the time to take some great shots of the Vipers I was selling. Maybe they don't need to do any more than they do to sell their cars, given their great reputation but hell, if nothing else, the camera would be tax deductible (unless Obama gets in office, perhaps :D).

The no brainer is.............Your car took a huge loss in value the second the specs for the 08 were announced. The same thing happened to your 2000 when the 01's got ABS.

I bought my '06 in December of '06. Don't you think I knew that a faster Viper was on the way? My plan before I even bought the '06 was to turbocharge it. If I were not going turbo, I would have waited a few months and bought an '08 or better, an ACR. not to take anything away from the '08's but you just can't top a twin turbo Viper.

Your motivation is obvious, REDSLED but you are failing miserably.

See prior post. It is all about your opinion only. Perhaps those people who ordered those colors find them to be complimentary? Being able to get differnt color combinations on a limited production car is fantastic.

some hosting sites require the resolution be diminished before upload, this could explain some of the "bad" photography. You did not just pick on the "quality" of the photo, you also commented on the colors. Now you are back pedaling and talking more about photos?

I think both of these cars are beautiful, but I would not choose these colors for myself. I also find it funny you prefer the GTS but your avatar has your SRT. Guess you don't like your GTS as much as you say?

I bought my 2000 GTS in July '07, after I bought the SRT10. Somebody else took the loss, not I. I only paid 45k for it in July and it had fewer than 12k miles on it. Keep trying, REDSLED. You are still failing to get me.

I like both cars just fine but there is something more relaxed about the GTS. I prefer the power of the GTS. It is also located at my house where I reside during the week. The SRT10 is at my weekend house so I have less time to drive it. The pic in my avatar hasn't anything to do with which car I prefer.
