So I'm driving down the freeway yesterday around 6:30 pm, I look in my left mirror only to notice this orange car in the distance. As the car got closer, so did its body lines. It's a 2001 Orange Lamborghini Diablo, the car looked MESMERIZING. It's one of those cars that you've just gotta see in person to truly appreciate. So the guy pulls up next me, and surprisingly, he was mad cool. We chatted for a bit, then continued to cruise neck to neck for a good hour on 66.
After a bit, we raced a few times, he had me twice, and I got him twice. This was the first time I've ever raced my Viper, EVER. The only car I've found worth racing anyway. So after about 4 runs, we cruised down to the bk meet in manassas.

Before we even entered the parking lot, people just RAN and surrounded his car, snapping pics, yelling things, it was just unbelievable, the car just has SO much presence.

Here're some pics I snappped between my drooling sessions haha:

We had a Diablo GT show up at a local meet a week or so ago, and it stole the show, even with an F430 there. When you're looking at dozens of exotics online, the styling can look a little dated but when you see one in person...it's a whole different story. Thanks for sharing!

The Diablo is a hot looking car but it looks dated next to the Murci.

Believe me man, these things are a WHOLE ANOTHER STORY in person...

I mean I'm used to turning heads to a point where I don't even notice it, but cruising next to this guy, I mean you had to see the reactions man, PEOPLE RAN towards this guy.

I mean at one points there's a ****load of people scattered around the huge lot, and then all of the sudden, they all circle around the Diablo haha...

Do you honestly think that Chuck has never seen a Diablo in person? Where I live, there are exotics everywhere and I am sure that Chuck has seen them all. I'm not impressed with them, although the Murci is my favorite of the bunch. I still prefer a Viper.

Yep. Nothing like parking beside a Diablo to make the Viper invisible...lol.. I have 3 friends with Diablo's and 1 with a Countach and I just accept the fact that my Viper will never get attn like the Lambo's.. .. The nice thing is that my Viper runs month after month and year after year with barely a hiccup. The Lambo's........ Holy crap. They need a full time mechanic just to keep them on the road and the repair bills are out of this world.. Ouch !!!

But... Can 800 - 1000 hp make you feel better? If you choose to go that route... :D

Really? I've ridden in them. I even rode shotgun in a Murci around Sebring finished off with a full 360 in turn 17.

I agree with you, the Diablo is a hot looking car but the Murci is even hotter in every way and the Lambo to get.

Out here in Vancouver, you see Lambos and Ferraris every day driving around. They are definitely eye candy though.Last Sunday,I was driving to my sister's place with a black Gallardo behind me and a red Diablo to my left.I've only seen 2 other Vipers since I have been here. The Viper gets unreal attention.

I love Lamborghinis, and they probably deserve the attention, but I tend to see more Lambos, and Ferraris on the road than Vipers. Obviously it is mostly due to their diverse product line. That is if a Viper was a separate brand. That would be cool. I had many people of different ages wondering about what kind of a car it was, which I was driving. It was called a Ferrari, Lamborghini, and even a Corvette. In my conclusion: Vipers are more unique, but the Lambos (the good ones) will always be a show steal.

The Murci is mechaincally superior to the Diablo for sure but I think the Diablo is a much better looking car.

I actually like the looks of the Diablo over the Murcielago. However I wouldn't quibble over it. The Murcielago is an incredible car. I have driven a Gallardo and it was fantastic. I have to agree. You want your Viper to disappear, as much as I love the Viper, park it next to a lambo.

I saw several Diablo's, Murci's and Gallardo's this past weekend. May be 20.
The Diablo looks "old" - no question.
The Murci is a BIG car! :D :D :D

Diablo will always be a eyecatcher! Most people have never and will never see one in their life. I've seen lots of exotics, but if I saw a Diablo today I'd be all excited too.

Murcielago or Gallardo...that is what it taks to make a Diablo look old and outdated...

I think the biggest reason people now "think" that Lambos are more common, is because of the Gallardo. Lamborghini didn't produce nowhere near as many Diablos, Murcis as they do Gallardos.

And even now, I barely EVER see any Lamborghinis on the road. People just don't drive 'em

This was the second Diablo I have EVER seen, the first I saw when I was in my senior year in high school back in 2006 when I still had the 350z, 3 years later, here I am neck to neck cruising/racing with one on the freeway.

Just Incredible

I don't think the Diablo looks terribly dated until you look at the interior, then it's holy Knightrider, Batman! The look of the Diablo is much like the Gen. I in that a new set of rims will make it look 10 years newer. I agree the Murci is a badass car too and by all means SHOULD look newer/nicer than it's predecessor...otherwise their designers and engineers failed miserably at their job.

I wouldn't kick either out of the garage. I'd take a Murci or Diablo over a G any day...unless someone put hairdryers on the Gallardo :D

What's the windshield print say? He's probably with Pharrell as a rapper/producer, he's based out of VA and he's seen rollin around in his black Enzo all the time.
