Gen 1 to 2 PCM swap
The G1's and G2's have totally different cam and crank signals, so your only option is VEC, Split second, or a stand alone. (Megasquirt is pretty inexpensive as far as stand alones) I have a VEC 3 in my 95 that I'm replacing with a Megasquirt 3 if you're interested. It is NOT a plug and play...- AndyMac

You've been around a lot longer than I, but most carnage I see is with the input shaft gear and the first gear on the cluster. These 2 gears are working in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th. The only time power isn't routed through these 2 gears is in 4th when the input shaft is directly coupled with...- AndyMac

This is probably what happened. (welcome to the club) The best option, IMO, is to swap in a newer 6060 trans. Built t56's don't seem to hold up as well as 6060's.- AndyMac

GEN 1 Tuning Options
Not sure how expensive the hardware is to do this, but could you put together a tuning package (maybe credit based like HPTuners) for the G1's? I love the Vec3 on my TT Gen1, but there are just some stuff I'd like to fiddle with in the stock computer.- AndyMac

Where to buy "Shuttle Clip" for Power windows?
You can get one from Dodge/Chrysler mini vans, 1996-2000 Voyagers/cravrans/town and country. The white shuttle is for the Left side window, the black shuttle is for the Right side window.- AndyMac

My Gen 2 with Gen 5 wheels
I couldn't agree more. I actually prefer Gen 3/4/5 rims on Gen 1/2's over anything that the aftermarket has provided. Car looks awesome, great color too... :)- AndyMac

Mobile 1, 15w50 at walmart for $19 for 5 quarts
I was just across the border and picked up a few jugs of 15-50 at Walmart, although I paid 25 bucks a jug... Hope there is still some left the next time I go down, I'll pick up a few years worth of oil changes.. Thanks for the heads up!- AndyMac

9 Second 1/4 mile
I asked this over on the alley a few years ago.. It has been done with 800whp, stock everything, sticky tires.. Practice and luck are key with this route obviously..- AndyMac

painting center console
You can use "Dupli-color High Performance Vinyl and Fabrick Paint" in rattle can form. Worst case you just cover it after, but my interior has seen 2 seasons and hasn't needed a touch up. I went from brown to black though. I also stripped my dash and shifter surround and painted them too.- AndyMac
