I have a set of the original pilot sport tires off a 99 Viper (replaced them and set them aside when I bought the car 5 years ago). They look great, 85% tread or better, but at their age I'm sure they've hardened up and wouldn't be very driveable.
Has the viper become "classic enough" for...
Hmmm... I can't imagine that someone with helpful info would refuse to share it just because I wasn't part of their "club."
Although I'll look into it. Thanks!
In the mean-time I'm still looking for recommendations on where to take my car for service.
I need some help finding the best place to service my 99 viper in the Seattle area.
I used to take my car to bill-pierre dodge, but it's been sold.
Maltby Motorsports in woodinville is also highly recommended, but they've vanished as well.
I've heard there's a viper tech at the dodge...
My 99 rt's fuel gauge reads 1/2 when full, and pegs at empty with nearly half a tank left! I did a search on this problem, and this appears to be extremely common with gen1-2 vipers.
I bought this handy device and problem solved:
ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool...
First of all KBB is nearly useless for determining the value of rare, exotic, and collectible cars. They use generalized calculations for condition, milage and depreciation.
Case in point, a blue-white GTS will cost you nearly 10k more then a red one of the same year... where is that...
I'm ready to order a corsa cat-back for my 99 rt10. I plan on sticking with stock cats for now, but I may upgrade those later.
My question is should I order the 2.5" inlet, or 3" inlet cat-back? Considering that I may go with 3" cats in the future, but need to fit the setup to the stock 2.5"...
Thanks, I found this thread that has a pic of a more simple holding mechanism:

Thanks for all the threads on the "lift it yourself" suggestions, I can do that but it's a bit of a balancing act--then...
I spent last weekend fumbling around my garage trying to figure out a good way of setting up a hoist to lift my hardtop off my car quickly and easily by myself. I made one attempt with a rather lame design, and luckily my hardtop survived unscathed. :-0
Has anybody else set something like...
My theory to car value is as follows:
A 45yo man will pay a premium for a car that they wish they could have had when they were 16yo.
The viper peaked in popularity around 1996, a 16yo in 1996 will be 45yo in 2025.
Right now we're entering the "lean years" for the viper's value: it's...
That's not a very good price. I wouldn't pay more then $33k for that car.
2000 is an undesirable year, and the mileage will make the car hard to resell in a pinch
I bought a very clean black/black 99 rt with 5k miles for 43k last year. Prices have dropped since then, I would imagine you could...
