I actually haven't had the gear change problem, just the speedo cutting in/out. If I happen to find the issue, I'll go ahead and post up.- kenmo

On my "to do" list is a shifter install. I'll take a close look at that as well while I'm down there. I'm thinking it's electrical with it being kinda intermittent, but anything's possible!!- kenmo

DPE Forged SP-16 19x10 fronts, Nitto 285's 20x12.5 rears, Nitto 345's Brushed centers with polished lip. Pain in the a$$ to keep clean, but worth it. Car is lowered on Eibachs, stock caps.- kenmo

Problems with aftermarket speedo calibrators?
I just did a search on this issue....experiencing the same symptoms as you've explained. I assume I have a speedo calibrator since mine has gears, but I haven't located the actual unit yet. Was curious if there were any updates to this thread? I'm experiencing the strange speedo works/doesn't work issue the last few times I've had it out. 2001 Viper GTS. Also noticed the car seems to be idling a bit lower than usual. She's about to get a tune up so I'll poke around and see if...- kenmo

GTS picking up
Congrats on the purchase! Love those yeller vipers! I'll also suggest partsrack. Only bought a handful of things from him in the past but everything went smoothly. He also seems very active on the board, so that's another good sign.- kenmo

Upgrading the stock 17" rims???
Custom wheels are really going to drastically improve the appearance of any car. Pick the style you like and go with it. Browse through the "wheel/tire" thread and see what floats your boat. Vipers are pretty rare to begin with...here's a chance to make it even more "unique."- kenmo

Long distance driving in a GTS '98
