I talked to Jay Slavsky, CEO of Imperial Marketing (and the original owner) about my car. Mr. Slavsky said his company did Viper logowear for Dodge and the VCA . He said the car was ordered by the Plant Manager of the Jefferson North Plant, was built 5/20/96, and was sent to Bloomfield Dodge for delivery. The Jefferson North Plant Manager that ordered it did not pick up the car for three weeks and Mr. Slavsky found out it was there and not picked up and asked Bloomfield Dodge to sell it to him. Bloomfield Dodge gave the Jefferson North Plant Manager a deadline to come pick the car up and he did not, so they sold the car to Mr. Slavsky. Mr. Slavsky said he got the car sometime in June of 96, He said he took it to the VOI in Orlando and the one in Las Vegas. He said he had tracked the car at Sebring and had drag raced it at the VOI in Vegas.

He told me he still has the window sticker and will send it to me. He said he would check to also see if he had any of the original paperwork from the initial sale and delivery.

I knew there was a story behind this car, and now I know what it is.

I found out some info on the original owner of my 200012 96 GTS. Guy was John (Jay) Slavsky, CEO of Imperial Marketing in the Detroit area. He apparently was a vendor to Dodge who did all the Dodge logo clothing. He must have had some big suck with somebody at Chrysler to get the car and it was not on Maurice Liang's or John B's list since he was not a Chrysler exec. I guess that solves the missing VIN. I hope to find out how and when he got the car. It was built before the 96 Indy 500, but I would like to know if he had it by then.

I will let you know what I find out.

I ran down a phone number and talked to his dad who gave me his cell phone number. I called and left him a message but have not yet heard back from him.
