    Over Matched? (Photo)

On my home from work on Friday, a beautiful day in San Diego, and my left rear tire ran up against a 3 inch screw. The tire was no match for this encounter. Lucky for me, my wife could load up one of my race tires and aluminum jack and drive out to where I was stuck. The tire went down slowly...

    NEW AVITAR

Great shot! I love the way these cars look on grass, kind of low with the bottom of the tire missing. Check out my avatar, similar. Dale

How hard is it to change plug wires on a Gen II?

I was surprised how easy it was once the windshield cowl was out of the way. Get a pair of mechanics’ gloves, they will save you skin! Dale

    Running Rich

James, I am not sure about the universal UniChip kit. I had the Dyno Shop here in San Diego do the work. They have a web site, The Dyno Shop , you might want to give them a call. As for the optimum A/F, I would ask one of the very good turners that post here all the time. Someone like Sean Roe...

    Running Rich

rdustman, When I added the Belanger headers and hi flow cats, I thought the engine would run lean. The reason I thought this was, I have the UniChip installed. After adding this, the dyno shop then tunes the engine on the dyno at 300 rpm increments. This chip overrides the factory computer where...

    Belanger Headers Installed, some pictures....

HISSTOY, no welding on the flange, just a silicon seal. Local Viper tech, great guy, says he has installed several this way and never had an issue with leaks. No leaks so far, We'll see. I did use the paper gasket that came with the headers, wish I had seen the post about using a OEM factory...

Hisses, Thanks, I just found this also. I can't make it today, I am a little late to get there. The route they are going is great, I have ridden it several times on my Harley, so have fun, but watch carefully, there are a lot of cars on that route. I will monitor the events Forum for the BBQ...

Thanks all for the positive comments!! Hisses, I didn't know about a San Diego rally today. Is this posted somewhere? I would like to go!! Hoosier Daddy, the clamps come from NAPA, 3" stainless band clamps. Weed53, haven't used the brand you are talking about but they are probably the same...

    Belanger Headers Installed, some pictures....

It took me about 7 days, working mostly an hour or two in the evening, to complete the install. I added the high flow cats, new wires and also did the side sill modification for machine screws. I also have the B&B 3" cat back. Right after the install I did a dyno pull and no change in power...

    Need Trailer in So Cal

Larry, I have a Sloan Kwik Load trailer and I think it could be the answer for you. My Viper is lowered about 3/4 inches and I can still open the door when the car is on the trailer. It's close but it does clear the fender. The nice thing about these trailers is when you load the car; the...

San Diego Viper owners/autocrossers chime in.

Hi Bad, Nice color combo! Of course I am a little biased! I missed the SoCal event, was out of town. My car is a GTS and I have the 5 point harness but I don't think I would get under 12 seconds. I haven't done this is years but I willing to give it a try. Dale

I would like to try the Carlsbad Drags, haven't been on a drag strip since 1969. Maybe Sheyster can give us (me) some pointers. How many runs can we get in? I have heard that a lot of time is spent waiting in line. Dale

San Diego Viper owners/autocrossers chime in.

Hi Jeff, Didn't realize that this was Jeff Cawthorne! Most of us in San Diego know that Jeff is one of the fastest drives in autocross no matter what car he's in! I use 17" front and rear with Purner (CCW) wheels. 17x13 rear and 17x12 in the front with Hoosiers. I don't have any problems with...

San Diego Viper owners/autocrossers chime in.

Hi Jeff, I have been racing in San Diego (member of SDAD)since 1980. I will be there and run in ASP #384. Looking foreword to seeing you there. I can't wait to see how the 02 with ABS does. I have occasionally driven my wife's Z06 with ABS and the brakes are way better for autocross. Dale

Driveway Modifications... anyone else have this problem - looking for advice

Carl, My Viper has been lowered 1" and does not rub going into my driveway, however my Z06 which is stock height does. The rubber strip that hangs down under the front of most vettes is very low and seems to rub all the time. You may not have a problem with your Viper. Dale

Guys! I need your help with my 5 points

I would like to take a picture but can't tonight; car is on the trailer for the race tomorrow, so I will try and explain as well as I can. The seat is held down in the front by two bolts. From the center of the head on the inside bolt, the one bolt closet to the transmission tunnel, I measured 5...

Hood Pad installed - Thanks JonB (photo)

Sorry, I should have explained in more detail. The stock hood liner is just black. JonB offers this version with the Viper logo painted to match the car, or as you please. It took about 4 weeks to get the liner. Dale
